Hi,

They have blocked something like 30 accounts for me in the last few months.

At first I create an account (from the computer with a new email and try to change the IP before) everything seems perfect.

I start adding the friends I had on the old account.

At the stage of everything without prior notice there is a message asking to confirm that I am real.

Since then the rush begins - I bring them the email - they send a code but because my phone number is linked to another account that they blocked for no reason (because I did not give them an ID) they block the account forever.

In addition to this I discovered something scary - they track their users - I log in from the computer and in the details of the accounts that I know the name of the small place where I live is written - the IP is linked to a large city located somewhere far from here.

Instagram is following you ..

I would be happy to receive advice on what to do - I tried to contact them on Twitter - they do not answer - I tried to send them a message for help within one of the new accounts - of course there is no response.

I do not know why no one is suing these impudent people for these unjustified blocks ...

How does Instagram detect my location when I connect from my computer's browser?

A few details:
I have an older account with my phone number linked.
I created a new account in Chrome, and after a few days I was asked to verify with a phone number (received a code and confirmed it).

Now in the account settings (from desktop), I see the phone number is added, but I cannot remove it.

It shows:
"Limited use – You previously added this number for two-factor authentication and login..."

When I try to remove it, I get this error:
"There was an issue deleting this number
Number not deleted
We weren’t able to complete deleting your..."

Is there a way to remove the phone number from the account?

Also, I noticed something interesting:
When I check my IP location online, it shows a nearby large city (around 40–50 km away).
However, Instagram seems to detect a much more precise area.

I’m trying to understand how this works from a desktop browser without location permissions.

After I made a new account (they blocked the previous one for no reason of course)

Again, Instagram blocked my account without any suspicious activity. I don't broadcast, I don't upload photos, I just slowly grew up with friends.

Six months without problems or signs of anything wrong.

The message I received:

'Your Instagram account has been suspended. This is because your account, or activity on it, doesn't follow our Community Standards on account integrity.'When I try to appeal, they ask for a photo of an ID. I'm not willing to send a real ID for privacy reasons (I've heard stories of people not actually deleting it and passing it on to second-generation children). I tried sending with the number hidden – they rejected and blocked it permanently.

Has anyone experienced this?

Is there a way to get an account back without sending a full ID?

What works for you – Meta Verified, follow-up requests, appeal forms, or something else?
