5 trial users in one week for my AI chatbot for PH businesses

I've been building Asikaso AI since last year alongside college, and getting users has been very slow.

I tried cold outreach, posting in groups, demos, and pretty much whatever I could think of. I even spent around ₱9k on ads before and it didn't really go so well. So I'm mostly just trying different things and seeing what would stick.

Then somehow this past week I got 5 businesses to start their free trial.

Thing is, I didn't even do anything different. It just happened that some businesses I've been talking to for a while, along with a few newer ones, all decided to finally try the app within the same 7 days. What surprised me is that most of them actually came from posts like this.

So I guess that's a sign I should probably keep sharing more of the journey.

These new users are still on their trial so it's still a little too early to celebrate. Now I need them activated, make sure they actually use the product, and hopefully help them succeed with it.

Right now I’m also trying something new with SEO, and I’ve started running Meta ads again. The ads are looking a little more promising this time, so we'll see.

From ₱0 to ₱5.5K MRR in 5 months while finishing college

Five months ago, I was struggling to get anyone to pay for and use my app, Asikaso AI.

Today, it’s at around ₱5,500 in monthly recurring revenue.

It’s still a small number, and growth isnt the fastest, but at least now it pays for itself. I was also finishing my last two semesters while learning sales, onboarding, customer support, and product development all for the first time.

I’m still figuring out which acquisition channel can work consistently. So far, most opportunities have come from sharing parts of the founder journey like my failed ads, first users, and small milestones like this.

Next goal is have it pay for my chatgpt subscription!
More ambitious goal is 50 users by the end of the year.

If your business gets a lot of inquiries in your fb/ig page, this might be worth trying:

What’s THE marketing strategy for B2B in the Philippines?

I know why would anyone publicly share their best strategy? I’ll still try my luck tho.

I set a goal this next half of the year to get 50 users for my startup.

Where I’m at:

  • I’m currently at 5 users 😆
  • Spent ₱9,000 on Meta ads. Didn’t go so well
  • No luck with cold emails/calls/messages
  • Posting in Facebook groups and subreddits has worked best so far

I’m now considering attending more industry events, expos, startup meetups, and demo days. I’m also thinking about using other platforms like TikTok, Threads, and other channels that could help me reach business owners.

For context, I built Asikaso AI, an AI chatbot for Facebook and Instagram business pages that answers inquiries, collects booking or order details, captures leads, and hands conversations over to a human when needed.

What do you all think? What acquisition channel has worked best for you?

First payout ever from an app I built

Got my first payout yesterday. It isn’t huge, but just seeing money hit my account from something I built feels surreal.

Just 3 months ago, I had 0 users and a lot of doubts about whether I should even continue this.

I’ve been building AsikasoAI for around 10 months now. It’s an AI assistant for businesses that handles customer messages on Facebook and Instagram.

Ironically, I got more users from posting about my failed ₱9000 Meta ads campaign than from the ads themselves.

Looking back, I’m also really glad I didn’t just move on from that failure, and still tried to capitalize on it by sharing the experience. Somehow that ended up working better than the actual ads.

Lots to build and improve but getting that first payout feels such a massive boost in confidence.
