Anybody else’s 7.3 gas do a single big “shake” when you start it up?

Brand new 2026 7.3L F-350 CCSB, XLT with the 7.3 engine. I just came from a 2013 Powerstroke which is also a big engine but I don’t really have much truck experience other than that.

I noticed when I start it up, the whole truck basically rolls a degree or two as the engine turns over and then settles instantly to be really smooth. I didn’t think much of it but I decided to look it up and I haven’t really seen anyone else talk about this. My 6.7L definitely didn’t do it as dramatically.

Any other 7.3 owners notice this?

Going from 6 to 2 cup holders in the front seat, need to help wife find solutions…

Finally sold my problematic 2013 Lariat with center console for a 2026 XLT with a bench. Before we take it on its first towing outing, I’m realizing my wife is going to have a hard time dealing with “only” 2 cup holders in the fold down bench, where we used to have 4 near the radio and 2 near the rear seat in the center console. Kids are in car seats in the back where we’ll hand them different things, plus coffees, waters, etc.

I found a couple ideas online related to replacing the headrest with a couple cup holders on metal poles, or maybe a little thing on the floor. There doesn’t seem to be any really good slam dunks for how to add more, they all seem compromised in some way. What have folks done to try and add a couple more cup holders in a secure way?

Is it possible to negotiate a Super Duty these days? Or is it just a skill issue…

I tried to buy a new F-350 7.3L (either an STX XL or basic XLT) last year to replace my 2013 Powerstroke, and basically just failed to do so. I saw several trucks at several dealers, sat down with them, got to the point where I’d sign and I’d ask if they could do any better. Could they come down a little bit, go up a little on my trade in, etc.

Every time I tried to negotiate, they basically said “lol no”, and let me walk out the door. I’m now going to try buying again this week but I don’t know if it’s unreasonable to expect some leeway on pricing. Everyone in my life likes to brag about how they get thousands off every time they buy cars but Super Duties feel like a different animal given how many people/industries actually need them and there isn’t nearly as much competition.

Anyone have any luck negotiating, or have any tactics that work?

Selling with rust - what’s the play? Fix myself or not worth it?

I’m trying to get out of my 2013 6.7L CCSB (95k miles) while it’s currently functional, and into a gasser since it’s been difficult for me to get highway miles recently.

I want to sort it out before I sell for maximum value. Mechanically the truck is fine, but the tailgate is a mess and there’s a pretty big paint bubble issue on one of the fenders. I finally got someone to even look at the fender, and they confirmed it would have to be cut out and welded, then paint matched. That plus a cheap used tailgate shell would be over $4000, and hours of my own labor to replace/paint the shell. Welding and fender stuff is definitely out of my skill area.

I was able to get a local shop to do my rocker panels and body mounts last year and nobody has seen anything else major, but there’s definitely visible surface rust elsewhere under the truck.

I’m curious what I should do. I had dealerships give me trade in values of like $11k a few months back due to the body work. Is it worth it to spend the money and time fixing the two worst rust areas? Is this something private sellers are more willing to overlook?

It’s got low miles and I’ve put a ton of work into it on emissions stuff, front end, new tires, etc.

Edit: link to truck pics, underneath and the rust spots

“Something went wrong”…sometimes? Mashing the PS button helps?

A few months ago I was playing a streaming PS3 game on my PS5 and paused it, then connected my portal, which predictably didn’t like it as it’s not allowed. I then got a black screen in the “globe” upon the connection where it would kick me back out with that error message.

Since the portal almost seemed to be stuck in some sort of loop (try to connect, see PS3 game, quit), I had the idea to mash the “PS5 Home” button in the soft menu to try and interrupt the failure loop. To my surprise, it actually kind of worked.

But since then, sometimes when I try to connect my portal I get that same black screen regardless of what I’m doing (disc based PS5 game, digital, etc), and then mashing that option sometimes works.

Anyone else have this issue?

For reference, I have multiple APs, the PS5 is wired, and when it does connect my experience is flawless.

Anybody replaced a tailgate before? 2016 gate on a 2013?

Trying to find some real-world experience with this, not getting anything conclusive searching online.

My 2013 6.7L F-350 CCSB has a rusted mess of a tailgate. I found one on FB marketplace from a 2016 F-350 (no other details). I know the 2011-2016 share a body style, is it as simple as detaching mine and putting the new one in? Any issues with the year difference? Curious how hard it actually is.
