A few fun Jack facts while we’re here:

🌱 Jack and our founder Ben met several times, but their friendship really took shape in 1990 when Ben invited Jack to his home. Around the kitchen table, they talked for hours about their experiences, their shared love of cannabis and hemp, and the importance of accurate information.

🌱 By 1994, the Jack Herer line had already spent years in development and was finally stable enough for release. After Northern Lights #5 x Haze, the team knew they had another milestone on their hands. It just needed a name.

🌱 Ben wanted to give Jack the highest honour he could: naming this new Sensi Seeds strain after him. When Ben told Jack, he offered him royalties or the chance to be hosted whenever he visited Amsterdam, with an apartment above the Hash Marihuana & Hemp Museum—fully stocked. Unsurprisingly, Jack chose the latter.

🌱 “I love to get high on myself” – Jack Herer.
One of his favourite lines. Jack was delighted to have a cannabis strain named after him, especially one that proved so popular. It’s still going strong today, with an unreal amount of hybrid offspring and more awards than any reasonable shelf could hold.

🌱 Jack once nearly missed an awards presentation because he was having so much fun smoking his namesake weed with the Sensi staff. He invited them all to come with him, but they had no passes, so Jack simply declared them all his special guests to the High Times door staff and brought them inside.

Legend behaviour, and the legend lives on in Jack’s family, friends and the very special strain named in his honour.

Sweet Cherry Kush, the parent strain of Cherry Bacio, was developed by Sensi Seeds by crossing Durban with Hindu Kush, and later with OG Kush.

Gelato #41, the other parent, was created by Sherbinskis through a cross of Sunset Sherbert and Thin Mint Cookies.

Our Hindu Kush is one of the most extensively bred strains in the Sensi Seeds catalogue.
