Collectible Sales Online: Self-Assessment?

Evening all,

In August 2025 I dug out my old collection of card collectibles (and similar items) and began listing them on EBay.

In the period August 2025 to April 2026, I sold 50 items totalling roughly £1,100, all of which were part of my previous collection. I also purchased 11 items totalling £200 to complete half finished sets etc, that are unsold and unlisted (and I intend to keep).

Do I need to register for self-assessment for 25/26? Although sales are over £1,000 in the period, I don’t think I meet the criteria for trading given I haven’t bought any item and subsequently sold it, but I’m seeing mixed advice online.

If I do need to register, what is my cost base for my sold items, given they were bought 15+ years? Or is the full £1,100 taxed?

Any input much appreciated.

9 month needs to be help more and more to get to sleep - where on earth do I start?

Feel unsafe and desperate. We are both exhausted from the last couple of months! Little girl has been harder and harder to put down, with a horrible week this week, where we are both exhausted and I feel like it’s getting unsafe waking up every few hours for so many months.

Wakes up for 3 bottles on the night- 11pm (very regularly), next bottles unpredictable of around 1am and 4.30am. About 150ml drank for the first 2. The 3rd is about 100ml. This past week she has needed to extra settling.

Bedtime routine is dinner at 6.30pm then when she seems done it’s bath, get in vest - little play if her nap is out of sync and we need to kill time. Offer bottle (normally has 30 ml or none), read a couple books, get in sleep sack then cuddle to sleep and transfer with white noise. Regular bottle wakes up when first up down between sleep cycles

Wake up at 6.30-7.30am. Wake windows are 2.5/4/3-4 hours.

When she was newborn I would keep putting her down and pat her tummy until she was soothed. If she did a big scream I would cuddle then transfer and leave room and go back when she cried and repeat. From 4-6 months she slept through. Teething cuddles is where I think it all came apart at 6 months.

Just tried Ferber on her morning nap and she was hysterical and I called it quits after 30 minutes of trying.

Any advice welcome - I am uncomfortable with cry it out just because my logic says she shouldn’t feel left alone completely this young, but I’m open to hear opinions! :)

With Ai, how hard is it to fake till you make it in new job? (Small business)

I work in marketing, have changed budget on words and that is about it. Thinking of applying for a digital marketing role that needs AdWords, should have them set up already. Role is not solely this, is social and web too.

Looking to see how bad an idea it is to fake it and learn on the job? Especially in the world of Ai for quick support? (Recommendations for good places to learn is amazing too!).
