Can someone please give me advice on a pivot in my career?

Hi everyone,

I have been a qualified QA Specialist for the past 5 years, and been out of work for 8 months due to termination of my contract due to a business decision (I wasn't fired).

I have been actively seeking work for 8 months and have been unsuccessful.

I see a lot of QA specialists struggling as well and feel like my journey has come to an end. Is it worth persuing a different direction in tech or is it a lost cause, if there's a path worth qualifying for, what would you suggest?

I'm feeling really lost and stress and would welcome any advice.

Can I ask advice from a family lawyer in South Africa?

I desperately need some advice, I really don't know what to do. Is there a lawyer on here that I can ask some advice, all I need is direction on what to do, not looking for someone to represent me, or work a case. Please if there is anyone who would be kind enough, please DM me.

I have been struggling for 7 months to get employment

Sigh.... Tired... I'm in South Africa and have really struggled to get employment after a layoff (not my fault, just a business decision that threw my and my colleagues life off course)

So now I am doing some courses to skill up to improve my chances, but in the meantime I'm struggling financially. So I'm looking for a bridge opportunity, something I can do part time to earn some cash while I get back on my feet. I'm exhausted and frustrated and don't know where to look anymore.

Has anyone tried this before? And what did you try?

Help 🥲

[For Hire] In between jobs $15 per hour

Hi everyone,

I’m a QA engineer with five years of experience and four ISTQB qualifications. My last contract ended earlier than expected, and I’ve been actively looking for new work since January. I’m also currently studying for another ISTQB certification so I can expand my skill set.

At the moment, I’m mainly looking for short-term freelance work to stay financially stable while I continue searching. I’m new to freelancing and haven’t had much success yet on Fiverr, Upwork, or PeoplePerHour.

If anyone has any advice, leads, or short-term opportunities, I’d be very grateful.
