I used google image search to figure out what this beetle is and it appears to be a leaf beetle called Anomoea laticlavia. But I'm not sure google image is finding this exact type so I thought I'd ask if anyone knows what this is.
FYI, the white stuff on the leaves is Surround Kaolin Clay.
I am somewhat new to selling options and this has happened a few times with various stocks. The contract I sell will go into the money before expiration but the buyer does not exercise the option. A few times it was only in the money for a couple of days and so when it expired, the buyer lost out.
Here's a generic example.
Stock is at $90 on April 1.
I had bought it at $99 previously.
I sell a call option with a $100 strike price expiring April 30 for $100.00.
Two weeks in and this tech stock has gone way up. It hits $110, $120, $130, $140.
For over a week it has been well into the money and the buyer still has not exercised. If they did today, they could buy at $100 and sell at $140 and make an easy $4,000 from a $100 contract buy. Instead they are risking the price dropping again and eventually out of the money.
I thought maybe it was just a human on the other end and they forgot they bought it or weren't paying attention. But it's happened a handful of times I doubt this is the case.
Maybe they want it to go higher but if so, just exercise the option and then wait to sell.
Why aren't they exercising early? Thoughts? I must be missing something obvious.
PS. The reason I care is because I want them to exercise the option early to free up my cash so I can do another option during the month.
