K2 Activing chamber heating

I finished the Mod. Overall it was pretty easy once I figured out where I was going to mount it. So i decided to mount it on the outside on the back. the only two changes I had to make to the printer were i had to remove the filter and I had to flip fan 1 around so it sucks the air in instead of blowing out. I figured that the filter is not really doing anything since there is so many other areas that air can escape from. I will be making a video and instructions on how to make the Mod. But high level. here are the steps

  1. print the drill guide see the link in the comments

  2. turn off the power remove the back panel

  3. place the drill guide over the exhuast port (large circle port) drill the bottom 2 holes 3 or 4 mm drill bit

  4. disconnect the fan (fan1) take the 4 screws out fan flip it over, reinstall fan connect the plug

  5. remove the rubber boot and top cover from the heater, keep the small screws

  6. place the heater on the back cover and align with the holes you drilled, use the screws from step 5

  7. reinstall back cover and put all the screws in

  8. plug everything back in and start printing engineering materials

test results so 55c in 20-25 minutes

any questions DM me

active heating for K2

So I bought the same heater and have been thinking about installing it. There are a couple of locations nothing seems super easy and quick. 1. The back left corner, would have to cut the back panel, just for the wiring 2. The filter fan, it fits prefect on the backside, little mods, would have to switch the wiring on the fan so it blows into the chamber, would have to move the filter or just get rid of it. 3. The left side fan, would have to remove the cover (which doesnt seem easy, think is exopy on) and repackage the heater to fit inside. 4. under the printer, would have to cut a hole on the bottom plate and design a riser/feet to raise up the printer. 5. the back right corner (Sam Wynne design) just wonder if you lose alot of the heat through the fan cut out right there. Any thoughts would be great. I am leaning towards option 2 or 3,

5 color print "hot swap" trick

Designed a Creality pixel plaque with 3 different print methods.

  1. If you have 2 or more cfs just load your colors and print.
  2. If you only have one CFS unit, follow this trick to avoid using a “Pause” command:

Setup: Map your Base and Legs/Arms to the same filament slot in your slicer.
First Phase: Load your Base Color (e.g., Blue) into that slot and start the print.
The Swap: After Layer 16 (approximately 2 hours in), once the base is finished, simply perform a “Hot Swap” by pulling the Base Color out of the CFS and loading your Leg/Arm Color (e.g., Gray) into the same slot.
Result: No pause is required, and the printer will continue with the new color for the remaining detail!

  1. each part can be printed by them self and then glued to the base plate. The baseplate is recessed so you can easliy align the parts. each pixel is single so you it will take you some time to assemble, great rain day project.

mothers day gift ideas

The kids wanted to make mom a gift for mothers day. So i helped them design a picture frame using my k2. They went a little crazy with the mesh patterns. There is a plan model too. It holds a 5x7 picture. Then I decided to used my son I7 and made a pendant and charm necklace. The pendant holds a 1x1 picture. Hope you enjoy.

Wanted to see if my raptor pro could scan tiny objects. here are some of the scans. they are only 22mm. overall they came out pretty good.

There is about 10 of them so I just made a folder. happy printing
