Wiki Wednesdays #146: Torrieth Godspeaker

Wiki Wednesdays #146: Torrieth Godspeaker

Hello all, this is Armon. It has been a moment, but I'm back for another Wiki Wednesday. This was a long time in the making - today we will be showcasing Torrieth Godspeaker, the founder of the Ravelian Church. Also, a special thanks to Atlas for being the driver of this lore.

So what is the TLDR?

  • Torrieth is now a Star Elf from Aelnar
  • Like before, she is archeologist and explorer, though she now has a far closer cultural connection to the Precursors due to her heritage
  • The Riavansa which destroyed her birthplace (combined with the discovery of and communion with the God Fragment) leads to a spiritual awakening within Torrieth.
  • Finding a place in the Ravelian Society, she seeks answers to both the tangible and intangible
  • Despite finding success and eventually becoming the leader of the Ravelians, her repeated exposure to powerlessly watching suffering (culminating in the First Corinite War) leads her to deep introspection and a secluded retreat to commune with the Fragment
  • When she emerges, Torrieth summons the various leaders of the Society to propose a new direction, one that elevates the pursuit of spiritual understanding to the same level as the pursuit worldly knowledge
  • The resulting lively debate is contested, but ends with Torrieth and her supporters prevailing leading to what would become the Ravelian Church
  • Torrieth's adventurers were not quite finished though as the discovery of "the Gates of Heaven" which are mysteriously locked in the Celestial Plane leads her resign from her a post and seek out the final answers to the her questions. What happened to her is unknown.

I know Ravelianism, as foundational as it is to the lore, is one that has been more than a bit of a black box. I hope you all enjoy the lore developed and leave some questions and comments for us below!

Anbennar 2026 Mission Tree Survey Review - EOA

Hello, everyone! Earlier, we got to see the results of the community ranking of Anbennar's 354 Mission Trees. However, when looking at the big picture, there is that can be missed. Contributors can see their content scored, but rarely get any comment on why. Players can see what are the most popular tags, but have little way of discussing or critiquing. This is where this series come into play.

Around every week, I will host a discussion on one the regions in alphabetical order. I'll have some questions to help facilitate the conversation.

This is meant to be a semi-serious discussion. While some silliness is fine, low effort joke comments like "I hate Al*nics" will be removed!

You can establish the canon of one tag/region post-1444. What do you do?

Congrats! The Dark Descendants have granted you the power to set the fate of one region/tag. Don't worry about the cosmic costs of these actions! Instead, wave you metaphorical wand and show us a taste of Their power.

Anbennar Updated for 1.13.* (Great Wave)

Hello there, Armon here to happily announce we have pushed an update to Anbennar for Victoria 3!

While this isn't a major release (that's for later this year), that doesn't mean we don't have a number of goodies for you. Here are just some toplines!

* Added Anbennar Achievements! (also Vanilla Achievements are now enabled!)

New JEs

* Naleni JEs - Will the once famed pirate harpies of Naleni embrace this new age of modernity or will the century herald their last flight?

* Portnamm JEs - Turn the lofty plans of ambitious industrialists from the gnome city-state into reality, economically control the entire world without firing a single shot!

* The Gem of Dolindha JE - Will the Sarda Empire or the Dragon Dominion secure lasting influence over Bosancovac, the largest city on the Ynn?

* Darkscale JE - It has been centuries since the great dragon Nimirth was slain. His progeny, the Darkscale Kobolds, however still live on. Now they dare to revive their dead god. (Yes, the Darkscales got content in Vic3 before EU4)

Flavor

* Magic Deficit Events (abusing mages now has more consequences)

* Added unique devout for gnolls (demon worship is still a religion)

* Unique IGs for Cyranvar (enjoy Wood Elf clan politicking headaches)

* Unique IGs for Soyzakuru Cartel (embrace late stage capitalism as a Gobliberatian)

* Added Lorentish Culture Sphere (1000+ years of shared history means less oppression!)

* Added Evikeraat aka the Machine (you can now feed pops for good!)

---

P.S: We had a few troubles with Steam Workshop, so if you didn't get the update properly just resubscribe. That should clear things up.

Wiki Wednesdays #141: The Orcish Golden Age

Another Wednesday, another Wiki showcase. Today, I am especially excited to present to you a massive expansion of orcish lore before the Greentide. Many have often wondered, what the orcs were doing before the true Dookanson came along. Were they just unga-bunga, smash dwarf for thousands of years? Are there even any clans that existed before? Were there any cool characters?

In order, no, yes, yes.

Alright, more seriously we have two sections amounting to over two thousands words of lore. The first is "the Age of Heroes", a Diadochi inspired period set during the height of CK3. While primarily written for future hooks in lore (CK3 Anbennar when?), it is a taste of what stories could be in the future.

https://anbennar.fandom.com/wiki/Orc#The_Age_of_Heroes

The second is filled with some more concrete content. We have an orcish lich, a Belisarius and Justinian analogue, and the scene from which Korgus emerges.

https://anbennar.fandom.com/wiki/Orc#The_Age_of_Two

For those of us who prefer pictures to get a sense of vibes, let me offer you the banners of Skullhowl and Greycrown.

Thanks Jojo for these sick flags.

Interesting how similar this looks to Shattered Crown...

Wiki Wednesdays #140: The Arsa Expedition

Hello, I am back for another Wiki Wednesday! Perhaps you might have seen a lore teaser yesterday? If not, I gave you a link for a reason. If so, you will find that week's entry is not that (but Soon^(tm)). What? Bread takes to bake and so too those lore. Luckily we have something fresh out the oven - The Arsa Expedition!

Click Here -> https://anbennar.fandom.com/wiki/Asra_Expedition

More specifically this is the second expedition launched (the first being where Gerind Orcrend of Ovdal Lodhum fame was lost). This is the one you can play as in 1444! Yes, friends, fabled post-1444 lore. It does happen.

So take a gander, ask some questions, and I'll catch you next Wiki Wednesday!

Seeking Input for <Redacted>

Okay, silly title aside, I am once again looking to plod along with Cyranvar MT rework. Due to Vic3 duties, I have been a bit disconnected from EU4. So I want to hear from the people, what **mechanics** are you enjoying? What do you wish to see more of? What do you dislike?

Let's set aside whether or not it is happening and just partake in some fun speculation and opinion posting. What do you think Riven should be like?

  • Galaxy brain set up and comboing?
  • Easy to pick up, hard to master?
  • Simple and fundamental?
  • Something else?

Personally, I am kind of fond of the idea of "easy to pick up, hard to master". She has the rule of cool factor to draw people in and, in league, has let people just fall into a rabbit hole of experimentation.

Damn the artist did a great job here...
