Gourami camouflage skills at their finest! (Don’t tell her you can still see her)

Just wanted to share my biggest snail: Behemoth!

He’s the biggest snail I’ve ever had so far. Almost a year old now and roughly 5 inches in size. Him and his brother, Goliath, mostly live off leftover cichlid food.

When I first got them, I was told they were “regular mystery snails” and would only grow to around 2 inches. Well… at this point I wouldn’t be surprised if they hit 6 inches within another year or so.

I’ve had this angelfish for about seven months and he’s always been active, but recently he stopped eating. It’s been around 9 days since I last saw him eat.

He used to be the only angelfish with smaller tank mates, but thinking maybe stress was an issue, I moved him to a 30-gallon blackwater setup with two gouramis to see if that would help.

The strange part is he’s not showing clear signs of illness. No clear bloating, no lethargy, no fin rot, no stringy poop, no gasping. He does look a bit paler and more skittish than usual though, hides when I get close. Still swims around normally and pecks at surfaces alongside the gourami when I am not around.

I’ve tried offering multiple foods: pellets, flakes, frozen blackworms, brine shrimp, even vegetables. At first he looked skinny, but now his belly looks a bit fuller, so I’m not sure if he secretly ate algae wafers meant for snails or if it’s early bloating.

All other fish in both tanks are acting completely normal and eating well.

Water parameters have been stable and consistent with what he’s used to:

0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, \\\~20 nitrate

pH: 8

KH: ~200 ppm

GH: ~200 ppm

Temp: 26°C

I’ve already done several water changes (probably twice the tank volume total) and even added activated carbon in case of contaminants.

I do have meds on hand, but I’m hesitant to treat without knowing what’s wrong since I don’t want to stress him more.
