I am considering a place very close to Barclays’ center. I love the apartment and I like that it’s close to the park. I noticed there a a lot of recommendations for 20-somethings to live in the ft Greene area. I’m 40f who loves wine bars, books, coffee shops and I tend to lean fairly social. Is this neighborhood a decent option for someone like me?

The place I’m looking at is technically in the Boreum Hill side of the area (off a quiet side street).

I’m a new US citizen and Im trying to understand the political system here. My immediate reaction to Micah Lasher and Alex Bores is frankly a bit of disgust given how much funding they both have from lobbyists and big tech. It feels like a legal loophole for a bribe/promise that they’ll support them back when they have power, which seems like it would be bad for the average citizen.

I much rather support someone who’s going about this in a grassroots way (and of course has points of view that I agree with).

Help me understand why the funding of those two front runners doesn’t bother you. I’m truly asking to learn.

Hi all,

I’m planning on taking my parents (both in their 70s) for a weekend trip to the Bahamas. I live in NYC so it’s a short flight.

All the suggestions online cater towards a younger crowd. Any recommendations for where we should stay and activities we should look into? My parents like trying new food and drinks. Activity wise: they both don’t swim so ideally something shallow for them to be comfortable in.
