DS 2000M Initial Thoughts

Decided to order the new Certina diver when it was released, unfortunately you can't order them directly in Asia from the website.

Lucky my son was coming over to China for the summer holidays, so he took it across for me, and also surprised me with another Certina dress piece.

Just thought I would give a few initial thoughts for people considering one.

I thought the dial would potentially be a bit much, but it's a stunner in the flesh, and a real eye catcher in different lighting conditions. Yes there is a bit too much text, but it's less noticeable on the wrist.

The powermatic is currently +1 second a day over the last week, which is great, hopefully it's stays that way.

I swapped to the rubber strap as I didn't enjoy the bracelet, it feels cheap and with the male links, the lug to lug is exaggerated, it's actually a longer effective lug to lug than my 45mm planet ocean. On rubber it's much more manageable and feels right for this summer style piece. I think I will order a black rubber strap to try.

The bezel feel is fine, not great. But it's never going to be with the push down and rotate style operation.

Not much else to say so far, crown knurling could have been more aggressive as its a bit difficult to wind, will be a nightmare with gloves, but I get this is a by the pool piece.

Overall very happy for the money, in retrospect would have just taken it with the rubber option but it's good to have both to get a feel for them. I would say these will come down a bit in price and be a good option for those with a large wrist or prefer a big style watch.

Apologies for the dirty mirror :(

Peli Appreciation July 1st

Did not test the helium relief valve today, did time my brew to perfection though. Almost a year together and this watch has been getting a lot of wrist time.

I have ordered the new Certina 2000M in the summer blue, will be interesting to see how it compares. I keep reaching for the Tudor for work and casual wear most days.

HC Actual Pricing

Evening All,

Thinking about the blue bezel and mesh. Is the above a reasonable price and also what are people paying for the rubber strap with deployment, if available?
