IFS Wellington July 2026

July’s First Saturday took agents to Petone, where the event started at Abandoned Brewery Taphouse before heading along Jackson Street’s Walk of Champions. Between heritage shopfronts and sporting history, 17 agents explored one of the Hutt Valley’s best-known streets. 8 levels were gained as agents earned more than 7.8 million AP, walking a combined 52 km. With an emphasis on clearing and rebuilding the area, agents neutralised 710 portals and captured 700 portals throughout the afternoon.

What are the odds of success with skill challenges? AKA "Do you feel lucky?"

I built this web app because statistics can be challenging. I wanted my players to have a better sense of how challenging a climb up a 50' cliff would be, when a critical failure results in falling.

Working on the basis that for many skill challenges (such as lock picking, but not climbing) a critical success is 2 successes, and critical failures requiring starting over, this gives an idea how long it may take to open a complex lock, and what the chance of breaking the lock picks might be.

It's completely free and runs in a browser, with no account required. The app is a simple html, javascript, and css.

Disclaimer: AI was used to assist in the coding. This was a chance to refresh myself with javascript and learn some new techniques.

On a dreary winter's day 19 agents followed the route from Aro Valley shops to upper Cuba Street, tracing the shift from village streets to one of Wellington’s most recognisable creative precincts.

2 levels were gained, both by agents on their first First Saturday event. 674 links were created and 588 links were destroyed.
