I (23) made my last student loan payment yesterday. I’m still in my grace period as I just graduated 6 months ago. I went to a very affordable college to get mi bachelors degree. I commuted and didn’t have any housing or meal plan which saved me a lot of money. While in school, I didn’t take out any loans my last two years and paid my balance for the year right out of pocket. I have always been good at managing my money and saved up what I could to pay it off. My goal was to be debt free before my grace period ended because I never wanted to drown in student debt my whole life. I also handled my highest interest rates first. I was smart when I took out any loans. I didn’t have a loan higher than 6.5% interest rate. I paid everything in full before my monthly payments started because i knew this was the only point in my life where I will this much flexibility with my money and it save me a lot of money if I pay it now years down the line.

I’m currently in the process of getting my engagement ring. I’m getting a custom ring, I’m getting a 4 prongs solitaire sapphire with platinum. I was given a timeline of 4-6 weeks to pick it up. It’s now week 8 and they haven’t reach out at all with an update or explanation. Last week I called them asking for an update and they said they would give me a call back and give me an update later. They said they were with a customer when I called so figured they call me back but after a week I’ve heard nothing. I’ve put my deposit down 8 weeks ago when we finalized the design.

I’m getting a little frustrated with the lack of communication. I can understand if they need more time but they have said nothing to me. I’m starting to get anxious about proposing since I initially wanted to propose about 2 weeks ago when I thought I was going to get it. I’m just having a hard time understanding why I haven’t been contacted at all. I would just like an explanation on why it’s taking longer than expected. My girlfriend keeps joking to me that she’s waiting for me to put a ring on her finger and sometimes it’s difficult to keep it a secret on the progress. I would propose this weekend in a perfect world. What should I do in this situation?

I (23M) have been with my girlfriend (24F) for a year. At the end of our call tonight she asked me if I had done any of the workout videos she sent me. Initially I wasn’t quite sure what she was talking about and I couldn’t recall any workout videos she texted me. Then I realized she will once in a while send me a workout video through Instagram. Keep in mind, she’s asking me this at almost midnight so I wasn’t quite sure what she was talking about. She then got mad at me that I haven’t implemented these into my workout.

She never asked me to add these into my workouts and I thought she simply just sent me these videos as I thought they were unique and interesting exercises. She then started saying I just don’t care what I send her, which definitely isn’t true. Did I do something wrong here? I wasn’t aware she wanted me to add this to my workout and I have just consistently been following the workout program I have been doing for a while.

I (23M) have been with my girlfriend (24F) for a year. Last night she sent an Instagram post that asks me what’s the cutest habit about your girlfriend. My response was “What’s the cutest habit of mine that you secretly love: I love it when you come over my house, one of the first things you is let me be there for you by running into my arms so I can to try to make you feel secured, cared, loved, valued, and heard. I always want you feel like you can tell me anything and for you to know I will always be here for you”

She texted me this morning saying “I wanna talk to you about the thing on instagram… is that really the cutest thing I do?” I responded with “I might have misunderstood the question as it was late at night when I read it. What I was saying is that I really love how you can open up to me and let me be there for you. Regarding one of the cutest habits you do, I really love it when you reach out throughout the day and send me thoughtful messages such as I miss you or letting me know how your day is going. I also find it very cute when you reach for my hand when we are in the car together and also when you put your head on my shoulders too when we are sitting down” and then she responded with “Thank you :) that threw me for a loop this morning I’m glad to hear you were just tired”

What I’m wondering is my initial response really that bad? It’s true that I was tired as I responded to this message at midnight after a long day. I can understand her asking if that’s really cutest thing she does but I thought my initial response was thoughtful. I was just saying I love it that she talk to me about anything she’s going through. I guess I’m not understanding what was so bad about my response that it threw her for a loop this morning. I’m just confused as I thought I was being genuine and complimenting my girlfriend.

Edit: I hear what everyone is saying. I can see now I made it about myself. I would like to say it was midnight and I was exhausted so hopefully that can provide clarity that I was intentionally trying to make it to myself. I simply trying to be thoughtful and to try and to tell her that I care about her. I’m sorry I’m not perfectly in everyone’s eyes.
