Sticker goo removal
I took the sticker off the fuel tank of my Chieftain about a year ago. There’s still some adhesive left over. What’s a good (paint safe) way to remove it?
Thanks
Got a good Dream Air
Not sure if I lucked out, but I wanted to shed some good light on the Dream Air.
I preordered in February, got it last week. The visuals are amazing. The cushion on the headset isn’t great, but it’s not bad. I can game for an hour without issue or discomfort. The box where the cables join hasn’t gotten hot on me either. A little warm under heavy use, but not bad. FOV isn’t great, but I expected that.
I’m running through some of the lighter games now. The Lab, Job Simulator, etc. They all run and look great.
I spent a few hours on my main game, DCS, last night. It runs smooth and looks MUCH better than my old headset. I’m coming from a Pimax 5k Super. I can actually read the MFDs without leaning in. I didn’t check frame rates, but the gameplay was smooth. Haven’t turned on the eye tracking and cranked up the settings. Don’t really need to.
Setup was easy. Ran through the room setup and eye calibration quickly. Tracking picked up quickly on v1 base stations once I moved the headset a little. Paired my controllers (vive cosmos) quickly and jumped into the games.
Overall, I’d say this is a 9/10 headset. It could use some improvements. But it’s an excellent upgrade.
System for reference
Intel core 9 ultra 285k
RTX 5080
64 GB DDR5 @ 6000
Upgrade to 5090?
I’ve got a DreamAir LH on the way. It’s cleared customs, so probably not too long now.
Running an Intel Core 9 Ultra series 2, 64 GB ram, 1200 watt PSU, and a 5080.
95% of my VR gaming will be in DCS. That’s really the only place I’d need the extra power of the upgraded card. On the other hand, DCS is really demanding. Otherwise I’m on a 2k monitor, so the 5080 handles everything I throw at it just fine.
As far as the swap, I’d only need the card. PSU is already running a 600w 12v 2x6 cable that splits from 2 PCIe connectors on the power supply (it’s a Corsair HX1200i)
Is it worth the upgrade? Will I have to sacrifice much performance sticking with the 5080? Don’t really want to spend that much on a 15-20% increase.
Thanks
