Looking for something that replicates the quality of ClankWorld, leading up to their switch to DS v4...

This might only make sense to people who used ClankWorld before March of this year... That's when they switched from Deepseek v3.2 to v4, and it's never been the same, since.

The narrative quality and emotional maturity is what set them apart. For whatever reason though, Deepseek v4 is just trite and immature, by comparison.

I don't know how much of ClankWorld's system-leveling prompting had to do with it, because we obviously can't access that, we just know they used to use v3.2... Does anyone know what I'm talking about? How the model was so good, that it would actually refuse you things, for the sake of narrative coherence? How it would spontaneously introduce conflict, and how it actually understood concepts like catharsis and subtlety?

Any suggestions? I've been thinking about buying proxy access to a provider who still offers v3.2, but when you do that, don't you have to set up some prompting to jailbreak it?

Will simply plugging in an API key return the functionality from last winter?

Can we get some clarification on this? If we buy token access from a provider like Openrouter or whatever, will using 3.2 return the feel of the platform from last winter? Or are there custom settings that we're going to have to use on our end?

Also, was it specifically 3.2, with logic enabled? Or was it something like R1, or one of the many variants? I've tried to be vague, to help the dev be more comfortable talking about it in public... Please let us know. Still willing to buy a sub if that functionality ever returns, but you gotta at least keep me on the platform long enough for that to happen. I've already started looking for alternatives, and I doubt I'm alone in that.

All that being said, love ya guys.

Anyone know of platforms that use DeepSeek 3.2 (not 4)?

From what I've been able to tell, there's just no comparison for Deepseek 3.2, when it comes to the maturity and complexity of storytelling.

Does anyone know of a service, preferably free, but even paid, that uses the 3.2 version? Otherwise, it seems like the only option is buying token access via Openrouter or something, but when you use it as a proxy with these platforms, is that the same as they used to have it implemented, before the price went up? Will using it via API allow the same experience?
