[Football] How not to end up like Egypt

After seeing the Egyptian head coach call yesterday’s match a robbery, despite his team bottling the game after being 2–0 up, I genuinely believe this victim mentality is exactly part of the reason why they bottled it.

Eventually, the ref will make mistakes. That’s football. But if you interpret every mistake as a robbery, you lose focus, and the opponent will take full advantage of that. They’ll even start playing mind games with you. We saw Lautaro provoking the Egyptian players once they allowed the match to get into their heads mentally.

The right mentality is what we saw from Belgium against the US. When that huge decision went against them (Balogun's red card), they didn’t act like they had been robbed. If that had happened to an African/Arab team, most of us know the reaction would probably be different. But Belgium used it as one more reason to fight harder and humiliate them. They came stronger.

I hope our national team doesn’t adopt that same victim mentality tomorrow. If the referee makes a mistake, don’t lose focus. Capitalize on the situation, use it as fuel, and let it feed the grinta.

P.S: Not saying this to hate on Egypt or their fans. I have nothing against them, I just think there’s a lesson to learn from how they handled that situation mentally.
