I got the Spirited Away pencils for funs. The doms i wanted to try for the darkness. They feel pretty smooth and they are dark. Can anyone tell me what the hb/2 grade means? Thanks.
Am I the only one who actually likes this wedding present from Loreli's parents? I also think Lorelai would have liked it because she's usually so quirky.
I just had to get these for my pencil collection and my love of the X- Files.
Got a 24 piece set of the Posca colored pencils. At first they seemed grainy unless you piled on the color, but the finished project from farther looks better i like the vibrancy of the colors. I guess I need to try again maybe with different paper. The paper was Strathmore recycled drawing.
I'm just going to stick these in a journal for now. Hopefully I can do some that are good enough to trade ive seen so many on here that I would like to get.
I bought two bags of pencils at the thriftstore today, I pulled out some that I wanted to collect and a few to use. Anyway I was wondering what everyone does with these generic picture pencils, will they be of any interest in years to come? I guess I could keep them in a shoebox in the closet or donate them back. The second and third photos are the ones I kept.
I went to Daiso, a Japanese dollar store in the US, today and got a few erasers. Notice the gorilla with a toilet set. So fun.
I plan on filling the back ground with soft shades of green with soft leaf shapes. I wonder if I need more orchids in the front?
Found a few things for my Collection just going through art supplies I had around. I like the vintage Koh-I- Noor box. And it's funny the one Venus pencil is marked 10 cents.

I just got these today the set goes from 4h to 6b and they seem really nice i can really see and feel the difference between each grade.
I collect all kinds of pencils, here are afew vintage sets. Could you imagine getting 18 pencils plus a sharpener for 69cents? I got the prismacolor set off ebay because it was what we used in high-school art class and I wanted to see what I could do with just the 12 colors, I had to replace a couple of missing colors with modern prismacolors. The Caran D'ache i really love the tin, I haven't used the pencils much.
The colors look interesting and I like other Tombow products but these have mixed reviews so I wonder what people think of them. I do like that you can buy the three sets one at a time and won't repeat colors, and the packaging looks nice.
So it started with a Lisa Frank pencil case, since I couldn't find any Lisa Frank colored pencils i decided to curate my own set from different brands. I've been swatching different pencils around the stickers. Anyway I also decided to bling the pencils just for fun.
I never know what to put into an art journal so I just thought of a formula to follow. I have many color pencil sets from very basic low budget sets to faber Castell polychromos. So anyway my new project is a journal doing a quick drawing with each set or brand then write info about the pencil set on the facing page. I'm swatching some and leaving room to go back and write more on each page. I may swatch some od the sets and maybe add where I purchased the pencils.
We found the 2026 Independent Bookstores Blackwings then on the way home spotted a Daiso and found pencils and fun accessories.
