Do You ever feel like a sample is just plagiarism?

Since i listen to Bocanada by Cerati i been interesed in sample based music. It's amazing how Dj Shadow takes this obscure shit and make prog epics just reorganizing it or how J Dilla makes new songs chopping music and creating new melodies. Even before that in Jazz it was common practice to make new piece from already existing ones. One of my favourite song of all time My Favourite Things is based on a random song from a movie i would have never watch. But outside of that listening to rap sometimes i feel like the song takes too much from the sample. Maybe it is because I already know the song but I Wonder it always makes me feel like he just take the best part of the song and loop it. I'll be missing You is a worse example. I know the argument that all art is iterative and art should be free to take and create without worrying too much and of course legally if the samples is clear it is not plagiarism but idk i just feel it is kinda wrong to take so much from another source most people will not check.

Why Fantano wear that glasses?

I don't use glasses so sorry if i am wrong but why the glasses seem to sliping off every second, forcing Fantano to put it back. Its looks anoying. Arent there better glasses so they don't slip off? I mean it is kinda satisfying to see them but sometimes i cannot pay attention on Fantano's point because i am too interesed in the glasses. I mean as a viewer is mostly why i watch Fantano videos but isnt it anoying to him? I mean again i like it and to me it's even kinda sexy. It reminds me to some art project where the idea of sex is there even if there is nothing explicit about it. I mean y'all know what i am talking about y'all watch his videos too but i cannot imagine it's not anoying to him. Does he even need glasses or they are those fake glasses?

Shame in you is one of the best song ever

What the fuck man. I been listening AiC very recently. Like a few months. But Shame in You makes me want to come everytime i listen to it. The vocal melody and the weird harmony are crazy. It always hook me at the start. But the guitar work is crazy. I love how it very slowly constructs the song behind it. It is not a complex structure or anything but i think have never listen to a song where the guitar is progressing slowly while the chorus remains relatively unchanged. But the final part is from another world man. What the fuck. It is usually considered a sad song but "And you must change patterns all we trained Or never regain peace you seek Now you hear me, for the things I see Yeah, I believe in inner peace, yeah" is kinda a hopeful message to end the song and it is so beutifully convey. It blows my mind it is not a song more talked about and how i have seem people who consider it the worst song of AiC.

The Blair Witch Project is pretty good

I post this because everytime i see someone talking about this movie they talk about how influential it is or how boring it is. But genuineli i really enjoy it. Maybe it is because thats the movie i tend to like but i love the dialogue centric it is. Like to me seeing the character slowly getting tired and disucussing all the time for random shit made me feel a Lot more inmersed in the story. In fact I would Say that the most terrifying thing of the movie is not Witch but the feeling of being in a forest all alone and not knowing where to go. Idk it felt very real and very well maded. Not to Say the Witch itself was not scary. Not showing her was a very good decision and since until now the horror was mostly realistic seeing how much it fuck with the characters mind was very cool. Of course most of this is achieve with the "acting" which in a sense it's no acting at all which is again a very clever and unique decision. And the ending was very cool too. It feels very surreal in a cool way.

Idk i really enjoy it and i don't get why i don't see more praise for the movie. The copycats were and are anoying but the original still stands as a very cool and unique movie.

I have seem a lot of people saying that the film depicts Salieri as mediocre composer but seeing the film I think it´s more that Salieri think himself as mediocre just because he is comparing himself to Mozart who obviously was more talented than he was but I think there is some clues that this is just his perception and Mozart himself found Salieri a good composer. When Salieri writes his Opera we see Mozart clapping afterwards. I think this is genuine and Mozart found this Opera good. But after the emperator says that Salieri is the best composer he knows I think Mozart got angry and that´s when we see him praising Salieri but in a disingenuous way saying things that are obviously absurd. Its not like Mozart think Salieri is a bad composer but he is angry that he is a sellout and is more well know than himself while doing worse music. This is way he in another scene mocks Salieri music. Again it´s not that he hates his music but he is jealous of its success. At the end when we see Mozart composing requiem he gets happy of Salieri´s praise because he finds Salieri a good composers and seeing him validating his music is comforting because of it. It´s seeing someone he respect truly understanding his real genius. I think this dinamic is the heart of the film and i have not seem people talk about this.
