How would you rate my bedroom and what would you change about it?

I think it looks okay but what could improve? Anything? I have 3 walls that are blue and 1 wall that is pink as an accent wall. I put carpet down and baseboards but you can't see the baseboards behind everything. I don't really know what I could change honestly. Honest advice only please. I spent a lot of hard work in this room. I painted it, put the baseboards down, etc.

Anti doomer/positive subreddits?

Hello. I'm looking for a place on here where I can be happy and where I can seek life advice/political opinions which are meant to be realistic/optimistic. I want to escape the doomer talk that plagues nearly every subreddit on here and just be happy for once.

The only anti doomer subreddit that I know of is r/doomercirclejerk but they are limited in what they allow. Do you know of any positive or anti doomer subreddits which I can frequent? I don't really like the doom and gloom talk that Reddit offers. Yes, I know, things suck right now, but maybe having a place to get away from all of that would help? I just want some realistic advice that doesn't involve people talking about the world ending. Thank you.

AN IV (1795) 2 book collection titled: DE L'ESPRIT DES LOIX (The Spirit Of The Law) by Montesquieu

I bought these books for $200 from a local book seller that I know of. He does a really grand job at tracking these books down to sell from private collectors. If you would like to know the name of the shop, just send me a message and I'll tell you the name.

I am really proud to own these books. I've always loved anything having to do with Napoleon. Has anyone played Holdfast: Nations At War? That's my favorite game! These books are just some of the books that the U.S. Founding fathers would have read when they designed the Constitution.

What is the legality of claiming a ghost town in North Carolina?

Location: North Carolina

Let's say that I wanted to claim Lost Cove (for example) and I needed money to do it. How would I go about in doing that? Do I need to produce the money myself or is there some type of government land/money grant that is out there that can help me out? I've always wanted to own a ghost town, ever since I was little. I want to rebuild buildings and have rails trails going to it for bicycles and tourists and etc. and have little shops making crafts and arts to bring in revenue for the place. Think of places like Leavenworth, Washington. Perhaps give the town a theme? What are the laws around this?

Thank you for considering my question.

Where do I belong politically?

I really don't know where I belong. People always assume that I'm a Democrat or a Republican based upon what I say but I honestly don't know. I basically just flipped a coin one day and it landed on tails and I chose Democrat even though I don't believe in any of their values.

Could anyone help me out? I will describe some of my beliefs.

  1. When I say someone supports "Christian values", they are just a traditional Catholic (in my eyes) and they will thus support what the church does and says and what the Pope says and etc... Nothing else. I don't really care what protestants do or what they say. I think they are crazy evangelicals influenced by Trump and his evil ways.

  2. I also think that LGBTQ+, feminism, environmentalists, civil rights activists, anti war protestors, etc. are noble and I support them but they probably didn't consult their ways and efforts with God first so I don't know if I really "support" them, if you know what I mean. I'll still be nice to them, no hatred. But, they probably didn't pray about it first and so it is not religiously grounded. God will change their ways if it is wrong but we also have free will so there's that. Too much of this stuff will destroy a society though. The same goes for groups who are on the other side of the spectrum also. Any amount of anything going in the wrong direction will destroy a society regardless and there needs to be a balance of it.

  3. If the Republican party was this way still, I would for sure be a Bull Moose Republican. As in, I believe in busting trusts, breaking apart big banks and other corporations that are leeches on society and people. I would also just be a progressive Democrat. I also believe that everyone should join a union.

  4. I believe in states rights and that one should be proud of where they come from. If they are not proud? Move to a place where you can be proud.

  5. The government is too powerful and CAN fall and SHOULD fall because right now the Patriot act is in violation of our civil liberties (among other things). We can't actually rise up against it and it's evil ways and high taxes because we would be seen as domestic terrorists for trying to stop it and that is honestly a shame.

  6. When I vote, I seek to see if the person that I am voting for supports Christian values. That is to say, have they helped their neighbor recently? Have they donated to charity? Have they went to a food bank? Have they done anything good? Jimmy Carter was an example of a president that I liked. Even as he was aging and breaking bones, he still went to Habitat for Humanity and build houses for people. That's one guy that I like.

  7. Theodore Roosevelt is another president that I like. Saving parks, carrying a big stick, using his bully pulpit to talk smack about his own party and the wrongs that they are doing. We need a guy like that now. Corporations and money should not control politicians or the choices that people make and it should not outweigh a vote made by the people.

  8. I believe that every small city or town should have a rail trail or some way for someone to reach another town or city by bicycle. Not everyone has a car.

  9. I believe in public transportation and green energy. But alas, cars dominate everything here in the states (thanks GMC (not))

  10. That's all.

Am I just a nothing politically? Honest answers only. I really am curious.

Do you have a favorite Mafia game?

Mine will always be The Old Country. I love the way that the old cars look and how they sound. I'm a big nerd for brass era cars and before. I love cars that are made of wood too like a car having a wooden frame. The way that the engines are designed also and how they are hand made will always get my attention. What's your favorite Mafia game and why?

I'm confused, can someone help me?

When I become Catholic, I want to be confirmed under the name of Madonna del Ghisallo (who is the patron saint of bicyclists) but when I go to the Wikipedia page, it says that Madonna del Ghisallo is a church on a hill? Is that even allowed? I like bicycles and I thought that there was a saint for bicycles but apparently there is not? Or, if there is, can someone help me find one? I really don't understand the backstory to this or why a church on a hill would be a saint. Could someone help me understand this story better? The wikipedia page says that Madonna del Ghisallo is another name for the Virgin Mary so what do I choose? I am very confused about this naming thing. Is Madonna del Ghisallo a person, a church on a hill or the Virgin Mary?

Let's say that you somehow became president and you were tasked with fixing the nation to make it fair and just for all. Everyone knows what's wrong with the country but how would you fix these issues from top to bottom? In detail, how would you repair the nation? Be as comprehensive and thorough as possible.

(I also partially want to know this answer myself because I'm a doomer and I really would like to know how a president fixes a nation and how they can easily mess it up too; I want hope).

I really dislike living in North Carolina. I'm a big trail nut and the lack of visible or known trails around me really bothers me. At least when I was in Ohio I had the TJ Evans trail and others to keep me busy with my bicycle. Meanwhile, there's nothing like that here in North Carolina. I live in the Sandhills region of the state so nothing really luxurious like that exists sadly. I could go to Pinehurst 45 minutes away but even then all I would be getting is a sandy pathway along the side of a busy highway with pine tree roots bumping against my tires and rocks (The Pinehurst Greenway).

On top of this, the south in general was built after the invention of the car so the infrastructure itself is centered around cars. I would rather be around train urbanism where everything is within walking distance of where a train station was/is. Cities that reuse old rails or still have their rails are what I like. When I lived in Alexandria Ohio I had the opportunity to travel to Granville on the TJ Evans trail and then I could bike to Johnstown too if I wanted to, to get a pizza. I like flat states too (easy to bike on).

I think what I miss too is everything blending together like the small little towns and cities. Alexandria also has a little grocery store and a muffin/coffee shop in town and I really love this. I love zoning laws which are friendly to small businesses. Here in NC, the zoning laws are not to my liking. I don't see small businesses thriving, just strip malls and Walmarts and such. It's like this in Ohio too but there are pockets of paradise with small little happy towns. I don't see these in North Carolina though unless I have not been looking.

I don't really have any other things that I want, just those.

Would any Midwest state (and an added bonus if you include a city/town) match what I want? I really liked sugarcreek Ohio when I visited! I loved how historical it was to see and how Swiss that it was!

Thanks in advance

Edit: I forgot about the Catholic church. I'm Catholic. The place needs a church like that for me.
