Bike lock recommendations for light expensive bike?

I recently bought a Specialized Sirrus X 5.0, it was on sale and is a much nicer bike than I would usually be able to afford. As a result, I’m super paranoid about getting it stolen.

I was going to buy some top-of-the-line, super expensive bike locks, but the downside is that they would weigh me down quite a bit. The light carbon frame is really nice, so that would be kind of sad.

Then I was reading about how the bike locks you get don’t really matter bc proper equipment can break through even the most expensive bike locks anyway, so now I’m wondering if there is any point buying a more expensive lock at all. Thoughts? Any tips from all you experienced bikers would help :)

Use out-of-state temporary driver’s license to get WA license?

I have an out-of-state driver’s license but it’s temporary, and it could be a while before I get the physical card. Assuming I have passport for proof of identity and other docs for proof of residency, will that be good enough at DMV to get a WA license? I’m asking here bc anytime I call any of the DMVs it says they are closed, even when they are not. Thank you!

Top brands/models for biking in city and occasionally on mild dirt/gravel for under $1000?

I’m looking into buying my first bike as an adult. I know that I want a hybrid bike bc altho I’ll mostly be riding it on city roads and paved paths I want to be able to take it on mild trails as well (nothing crazy tho). I live in Seattle, if that helps at all. I reluctantly set aside a budget of $800-$1000 but def would prefer to spend less if possible.

Just wondered if any of you would have any advice! I appreciate any help you all can provide!
