Spent months building something for aspirants. Realized building is easier than reaching people !
A few months ago, I started building a vocabulary app for competitive exam aspirants in India.
Not a startup-backed app.
Not built by a company.
Just me, sitting for months, designing screens, organizing words, fixing bugs, and trying to make something genuinely useful for students preparing for exams like SSC, Banking, Railways, CDS, NDA, CUET, CLAT, etc.
The app is called Vocabo.
I knew building the app was difficult, but I didn’t realize marketing it would feel even harder.
So after launching it a few days ago, I first shared it with my own friends and relatives. I simply asked them for two things:
- honest feedback
- and a small rating/review so the app could rank a little higher on Play Store as a new app.
Everyone said:
“haan bhai kar denge.”
But nobody actually did.
Not even a single genuine feedback.
Not one review.
Most just ignored it completely.
And honestly, that hurt more than I expected.
So here I am, reaching out to strangers on Reddit instead.
If you are an aspirant, or someone preparing for competitive exams, I’d genuinely appreciate if you could try the app once and tell me:
- what feels useful
- what feels bad
- what should be improved
- what is missing
I’ll keep improving it.
you can search on Play Store:
"Vocabo by Jarhauliya"
Even if only a few people use it seriously and it helps someone improve their English section one day, I’ll feel all those months were worth it.
Thank you for reading. ❤️
