Spent months building something for aspirants. Realized building is easier than reaching people !

A few months ago, I started building a vocabulary app for competitive exam aspirants in India.

Not a startup-backed app.
Not built by a company.
Just me, sitting for months, designing screens, organizing words, fixing bugs, and trying to make something genuinely useful for students preparing for exams like SSC, Banking, Railways, CDS, NDA, CUET, CLAT, etc.

The app is called Vocabo.

I knew building the app was difficult, but I didn’t realize marketing it would feel even harder.

So after launching it a few days ago, I first shared it with my own friends and relatives. I simply asked them for two things:
- honest feedback
- and a small rating/review so the app could rank a little higher on Play Store as a new app.

Everyone said:
“haan bhai kar denge.”

But nobody actually did.

Not even a single genuine feedback.
Not one review.
Most just ignored it completely.

And honestly, that hurt more than I expected.

So here I am, reaching out to strangers on Reddit instead.

If you are an aspirant, or someone preparing for competitive exams, I’d genuinely appreciate if you could try the app once and tell me:
- what feels useful
- what feels bad
- what should be improved
- what is missing

I’ll keep improving it.
you can search on Play Store:

"Vocabo by Jarhauliya"

Even if only a few people use it seriously and it helps someone improve their English section one day, I’ll feel all those months were worth it.

Thank you for reading. ❤️

📚 Spent months building this app for SSC aspirants hoping it helps someone here!!

I don’t usually post things like this, but after spending months building this app completely focused on SSC and other competitive exam aspirants, I thought maybe it deserves a chance to reach the people it was actually made for.

The app is called Vocabo.

I created it because while preparing, I realized English vocabulary preparation is often either too boring, too scattered, or filled with unnecessary distractions. Most of us just need one clean place where we can revise daily, practice seriously, and improve gradually.

So I built Vocabo for people like us.

It covers almost every vocabulary topic asked in exams like SSC CGL, CHSL, Banking, Railways, CDS, NDA, CUET, CLAT, etc.:

• Synonyms & Antonyms
• One Word Substitution
• Idioms & Phrases
• Phrasal Verbs
• Root Words
• Common Errors
• Cloze Test
• Sentence Improvement
• Spellings
• Homophones
• Proverbs
• Foreign Words
…and many more.

The app has:

  • swipe-based learning
  • quizzes and mixed tests
  • revision bookmarks
  • streak tracking
  • Word of the Day
  • progress tracking

I honestly don’t know whether the Google algorithm will ever push this app or not.

But I genuinely believe that if this app helps even one serious aspirant improve their English section and move one step closer to selection, all the effort I put into building it will feel worth it.

Since this subreddit doesn’t allow links, just search:

“Vocabo Jarhauliya” on Play Store

and you’ll find it.

I’m not asking for anything except honest feedback and ratings. Tell me what is bad, what feels missing, what can be improved. I’ll keep working on it.

Built by an aspirant, for aspirants. ❤️
