I’m wondering what kind of roach is this . Apartment pest control said it was a beetle but it doesn’t look like one . This is the first one I’ve seen since I moved here 7 months ago . It was by my bedroom window wall. It fell on the floor . My cabinets are clean ,no droppings etc and I keep my home pretty neat , leave no dishes over night in sink , sweep & wipe crumbs daily . I do live near playground with mulch and it’s very humid & hot here . Is this the beginning of an infestation ?

I moved into an apartment 4 months ago , first floor with sliding patio door. No screens on any any doors . 2 rooms are carpet and the rest is hardwood floors . Southern USA . I’ve been seeing these black bugs , at first it was sporadically but now it’s daily . I lifted one of my bath floor mats up and 3 were under there plus a baby one . I usually hang the mat to dry daily since kid kinda get water everywhere. There’s lots of spiders as well. I’m just trying to figure out what kind of bugs are these ? Their location is on hardwood floor in kitchen , living room , laundry room and bathroom , maybe saw two on carpet since moving here . My doors do have gaps that I’m going to get sealed and I clean my home daily and leave no dishes in sink , take out trash , mop a few times a week .
