4 YOE DevOps/SRE engineer here and I’m stuck in a risky career situation. Need advice from people who have handled delayed onboarding / contract vs full-time tradeoffs.
Current situation:
Offer 1
- 19 LPA fixed
- 1 year contract role
- Joining on 25 May
- Offer already confirmed
- Cant exit for 2 month after joining
Offer 2 – PwC AC
- 20 LPA fixed
- Senior Associate role (full-time)
- Offer letter was already released initially
Issue:
PwC recruiter informed me there was a Workday/application issue due to which they could not continue BGV/onboarding on the original application. They asked me to reapply using a recruiter-generated personalized link for the same position and promised a revised offer letter with same compensation.
Current status:
- Old application → shows “Candidate Withdrawn”
- New application → “In Progress”
- Recruiter says it is a technical/internal workflow issue
My concern:
My LWD is already 22 May, so I’m entering a risky gap period now.
Question for experienced folks:
- Have you seen PwC AC recreate applications like this due to Workday issues?
- Is this usually genuine or a red flag?
- Would you wait a few more days for a full-time Big4 role or safely join the 1-year contract role first?
- In contact with PWC Hr she is saying you will get today from 2 days but still not received revised offer letter
Would appreciate practical advice from people who have faced similar onboarding delays.
Please suggest should I take 1 year contract role or risk and wait for PWC ac
