Idaho

My sister in law lives in a small town in Idaho and homeschools their kids. The oldest 2 didn’t actually graduate high school level becuz of how poorly they were “taught”. The current 2 are supposedly in 7th and 2nd grades but the 7th grader tests at a 4/5th grade level (barely) and is currently failing 2 classes. The 2nd grader doesn’t even test at a kindergarten level and can’t even write her name (she’s 8 y/o). I don’t know how much detail I want to share, so my main question is - as an outsider, but I’m still a family member, is there anything I can do or anyone I can report to for how behind they are?? I did a small amount of googling and it seems like Idaho is very lenient when it comes to homeschooling. I live in a very blue, liberal state where education is highly prioritized so it kinda blows my mind the lack of education my nieces and nephews have gotten. I don’t have an issue at all with homeschooling. I understand why people do it. I have mom friends where I live who homeschool for various reasons and it is so much better than what my sister in law is doing and there is a lot more checking in and regulating. I have an issue with how my sister in law is doing it and how it’s affecting my nieces and nephews.

So is anyone familiar with Idaho? I’m having a hard time watching this year after year…

Thank u for any thoughts!

2024 Elite (good or bad?)

*Generally Speaking* Is a 2024 Elite a “good car”? I’m a mom, getting ready to give up my mini van since my youngest just started driving. Still want 8 seats for when we do things as a family. I’m also kinda researching this on my own since my husband works and travels for work allllll the time. And I’m not a car girl, haha. Found a 2024 Elite in the colors I want (interior and exterior) for $42k with 40k miles. One owner, as a lease, being sold at a dealer. I’m not concerned about mileage since I don’t drive anywhere near as much as I used to. I think the price is good?? But I’m more concerned if this is a good year Elite or not. Google doesn’t say anything bad so I’m hoping it’s correct. Everyone on this sub seems to know a lot so I’m appreciative of any thoughts! 😉

What are the options for Sema, no additives, live in CA

So sorry for what may be an ignorant post… I know there’s been a ton of activity lately with ProRx shutting down and changes being made. I’ve had a hard time keeping up with it all due to my husband needing 2 unexpected surgeries and I still have kids to take care of. Plus I have a decent stash for now so I have time to figure out my options going forward.

I can’t tell if I will still be able to order Sema from Refills if I don’t want additives. Hallandale is not an option for me due to living in CA. So do I need to find a new provider?

Also, I wasn’t able to log into the old site so I logged into the new site and it looks so basic and different and gave me no options to change my credit card or anything. Is this normal?? My account is set to auto renew on June 6 but I don’t know if I’ll even be able to use their services anymore.

Thank u for any advice or knowledge! 🙏🏻 Or even if there’s posts with info that I’m not seeing that can answer my questions.

I’ve been lurking here long enough to know about highlanders having transmission issues or at least potential issues. With my youngest getting his license soon, it’s time to trade in the mini van and get me an SUV (preferably still 8 seats as it will fit our whole family when we go places together).

Are the hybrid highlanders considered free from these transmission troubles? I’m looking into used mainly becuz most/all dealers near me don’t have any new or they’re all on order. I don’t want to wait that long. And I don’t drive nearly as much anymore so I don’t mind used, with some mileage already on it. I won’t be adding much to it.

Just want to feel comfortable with the hybrid or if there’s any issues with those too that I don’t know about??

Thanks for any help!

For those that want to get every last drop out of a vial, which opener do you use? I’ve searched “vial opener” on Amazon and the options look like either a can opener or pliers. I have both of those, so do I really need to buy an actual vial opener. If so, any recommendations?

I have tried the method of pulling the needle as far out as possible, as well as injecting air, and there’s still some left. In the wake of all the pharmacy changes, I want every tiny last drop I can get, haha!

Thanks for any help!
