DEATH TO CHOCOLATES!

Not the GLP post you were expecting, I’m sure 😂

I humbly request all restaurants rename their “Death by Chocolate” deserts to “Death TO Chocolate” for the US game vs Belgium.

Maybe a boycott on Belgium waffles, too.

That is all.

Admittedly this is a delayed crap talking post because I couldn’t come up with anything good about our matchup against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Like a bad Yugo joke was the best I could come up with, but that seemed like a bit of a deep cut 😂

Question: Seven Cells

Hey, happy Sunday! Does anyone know if BEWL still uses Seven Cells pharmacy? They're one of the few pharmacies that use a higher concentration of 30mg/ml - so a lot less to inject when you're on a 15mg dose. My current Optio vial is 12.5 mg/m; so I have to inject twice to get full dose.

BEWL Staff: Can I ignore the overdue Quarterly Check-In notice on the new patient portal?

According to the new portal, I am supposed to do a quarterly check-in so that a new 12-week order can ship out by 7/17. Problem is that I don't need a fresh 12-week supply yet. I'm actually good until late next month because I placed an order with the Apothecary Sub in May when I still had 2 Hallandale vials left. I did that because I was having a weird negative reaction when taking the Hallandale tirz full strength every week. I managed to use up the Hallandale by taking it every other week along with the Apothecary, so I still have 2 vials from the Apothecary back-up pharmacy left.

I really don't need to re-order until sometime next month. There is no similar notification in Healthie, just the new portal (which we're not supposed to use for now anyway). So can I do the quarterly check-in next month?

Holy mackerel Hallendale hurts

I had to switch from BPI and went with Hallendale. I gave myself the first Hallendale shot about 10 minutes ago and initially it was normal, and now I'm sitting here with stinging at the injection site. I've seen other people say this, but I've never actually experienced it. Anyway, I hope you all had a lovely Independence Day!

Big Easy was the first birthday message and I appreciate it!

Seriously, they sent me a very nice birthday message a day before. My birthday is today and I got birthday wishes from Big Easy yesterday wishing me the "healthiest and best" birthday yet.

I really appreciated that message. When I was a kid, I thought the fireworks were in honor of my birthday, yes, my parents lied to me 😂. It was kind of funny to get the message on July 4th.

So thank you Big Easy.

First injection ✅

I did it! I worked up the nerve and did my first shot! Actually my husband gave it to me, but it was nothing! I can’t believe I let my head control me like that!
Now, praying that I will get better results and less side effects with Tirz than I did with that Wegovy pill. 🙏🏻

The real thing that annoys me about GLPs

Maybe this is just me, but does anyone else get really annoyed when they have a bad meal now? Like dude, I was hungry enough to order something good, and this is just 31 flavors of “meh”? Seriously, annoys the crap out of me.

That is all 😂

First injection- I’m nervous

I just did my first injection of tirz, I’m super excited but have read a few too many scary stories about side effects. I’m a naturally anxious person anyway (already on meds for anxiety) and I have a few questions. I’ve heard people say you might feel rough after taking the injection, I know that’s subjective to each person, but what should I be expecting for tomorrow? Shot was given at 8:15pm and it is now 11:49pm. I have some nausea, but I can’t tell if that’s just from my nerves. I think my main concern is, will the injection impact the absorption of my medications? I’m on an SNRI and a beta blocker. I’d love to hear some thoughts, and maybe some suggestions.

I have to wait until July 12/13 for my first consult with a provider. 🥲

I am on the Big Easy website and that's the soonest provider consult available.
Sighs.
I guess I can wait 3 weeks to get started.
I am surprised at the delay.
Does anyone know why?
Thanks in advance

Deficit/protein goals

Hey friends!
I have some caloric deficit questions. I know a few people taking tirz who eat 800 calls/day, or 1,000, 1,200, but some days only 500… my doctor told me to to stick to about 1,200 cals/day. Maintaining muscle mass is EXTREMELY important to me. So, while I aim for 1,200 cals/day, if I find that I’m low on protein at the end of the day, I will have a protein shake to amp me up 20-30g but that also adds up to 200 cals and today, that put me at 1,300 cals. Would ya’ll be worried about this, or do you think meeting the protein is worth it?

Reaction to new bottle

Im having a red heated reaction to a new Apothecary bottle. I’ve taken 2 shots and both gave me a hot red spot about the size of a quarter. I’ve been on Tirzepatide since September and I’ve never had an allergic reaction. Is it the new bottle or the tiny short needles they sent?

Refill - process help please

Need some help and I know this group will quickly have my answers.

Husband & I are both needing to submit refill requests. I used a link from a recent chat message and it went through pretty seamlessly, though I wasn't charged the expected $75 so not sure if it really went through properly?

Husband tried same link from the message in his app and gets an entirely different experience, looks like it's just going to charge him $75 but he didn't get the form to complete about preferences and such.

Even looking on the main website at the descriptions of when to use which portal doesn't seem to clear things up for me.

Help please?

Doctor ignoring patient needs?

Edit: Thanks to Jasmine, a nurse reached out to my wife and they discussed her medical history and what was going on. They're sending another vial to plus up to 15mg doses. I'm hoping this was just a one-off strange encounter with one of the doctors.

A few months ago, my wife brought up trying to titrate down from 15mg since she was at her goal weight and wanted to see if she could maintain on a lower dose. She started gaining weight again on 12.5mg and didn't like how she felt, so for her latest refill she requested to go back to 15mg. The doctor instead said she was going to drop her to 10mg, and then ignored all messages my wife sent after that. And then 10mg doses showed up at our door today. Is this becoming common with BEWL? We've been using them for about a year now, and it was primarily because of the excellent customer service, so it was pretty shocking to just be straight up ignored by the doctor.

Even your dentist needs to know you're on a GLP1

Just a general PSA for those who don't think it's important. You should be telling ALL your doctors that you are on a GLP1. If you don't think your doctors will like the idea that you take compounded, just tell them you are on name brand and your dose. The point is that they know you're on a GLP1; they don't need to know or lecture you about compound and their opinions (if applicable).

Yes, even your dentist. GLP1s can cause excess bleeding and whether you're going in for a teeth cleaning or a crown, bleeding is a risk. They need to know.

I'm looking at having a knee replacement this fall, and I never realized how important it is to inform your dentist of everything. I can't do a dental cleaning within 6 weeks prior to surgery or 3 months after surgery, due to infection risks. I have to take antibiotics before teeth cleanings for the next 2 years because of this. I never knew.

My point being - tell your docs you're on the shot and don't forget to tell your dentist :)

FedEx Delayed My Medication by 2 Days – Is It Still Safe to Use?

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping to get some advice.

My medication shipment was delayed by FedEx, and instead of arriving on time, it showed up two days late. When I opened the package, all of the ice packs had completely melted, and the medication was warm to the touch.

The shipment contains a 3-month supply, so I'm concerned about whether the delay and loss of refrigeration could have affected its effectiveness.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Did your medication still work, or did you have to request a replacement? Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
