Time for a change
As the title says it’s time for a change. I’ve been using a med spa in town since I started on GLP1’s in Dec 2025. I’m currently on 7.5 and I have been since March. I’ve lost 35 lbs so far. I’d like to change to Big Easy Weight Loss but I’m wondering, does a change in provider mean I’d have to start over at 2.5 again? If not, how do I document that I’ve been on 7.5? I get my shots there in clinic, but I have the option to take home filled syringes. I’ve been thinking about paying for one more month ($329/mo) and get the filled syringes to buy time to get set up with my new provider. Is there anything else I should be doing to ease the transition. Obviously I’m trying to avoid a lapse in meds.
Feeling discouraged
Hey y'all! So I'm feeling a bit discouraged reading all these wonderful success stories! I've been on compounded Tirzepatide for 3 months now with a good diet, 70oz of water with electrolytes daily, and cardio with resistance/ weight training 3-4 x per week but have only lost about 14lbs! I started with another telehealth on BPI w/B6 with a starting dose of 2.5 mg then titrated up to 5mg by my 2nd month. Started with BEWL Apothecary no additives at 6.8mg for 1 month now going up to 9mg on Sat for month 2 then 11.16mg for month 3. I read people that have lost 30+ lbs by their 3rd month! What am I doing wrong?? I do drink straight liquor shots (tequila) on the weekends but some of the success stories I've read, they still drink too! Could the alcohol be affecting me this much or have I just not gotten to a sufficient dose yet??
DID I DO SOMETHING WRONG?
Please be kind-
I’ve taken 17 shots at 2.5mg branded Zepbound.
Just my 18th shot- 3.5mg compounded Hallandale, 35 units 10mg/mL- why does Shotsy show that I’ll have 15mg in my system in two days?
None of the other weeks skyrocketed up that high. Is something wrong in Shotsy or am I going to die?
Nervous to switch
1st, if I do go compound, it’ll definitely be Big Easy! Love the engagement from the owner and support staff here.
I’m 4 months into my Zep journey, about 42lbs so far (came off fast at 1st) and have had pretty much zero side effects. Currently on 7.5 but about ready to go to 10. It’s been a miracle drug for me.
And…$450/month isn’t exactly an easy pill to swallow (no pun intended). I’ve researched compound, even placed an order from refills a while back (which was totally wrong and an utter disaster) but I keep seeing posts like “Hallandale doesn’t work for me”, or similar. I want to use Hallandale by the way since they just have the one preservative. I just don’t want to mess up my progress so I’d love to hear from other people who have made the switch from Zepbound to compound and had continued success.
Thank you!
BEWL Customer Service is excellent
I just wanted to praise Cassie who went above and beyond to help me with a delayed shipping issue. She truly displayed what it means not to only meet expectations but she far exceeds them. BEWL thank you for being amazing and give that girl a raise! (J/k) but seriously, wonderful service :)
Does anyone know how long it will take to get a Zofran script filled? My 3rd injection hit me hard with the nausea. My 4th injection is coming up on Friday so I'd like to have them. I spoke with the doctor on Sunday, but the pharmacy doesn't have the script yet. I left a message on the VM at BEWL.
reddit.comDosage question for Quaker meds
My vial label says tirzepatide 18 mg, 2 mL vial, but the instructions say inject 0.28 mL for a 5 mg dose. By my calculation that gives ~2.5 mg. Can you confirm the intended concentration and dose? My dose should be 5mg. Did they mean to say it’s 18mg PER mL?
I selected 1 Vial but receiving 3 Vials?
Hi! I'm new to Big Easy and chose to pay for just 1 vial instead of a 3-month supply. I made this decision in case I reach my goal within a month or two and don't want to continue. However, I noticed that my approved order states that I will be sent 3 vials. Is it mandatory to receive and pay for a 3-month supply, whether upfront or in payments, or is there an error? Thank you!
Getting In Contact with BEWL
Hello everyone,
Long story short, I am trying to get in Contact with BEWL. I my prescription is starting to get low and I need to refill it. When I try to access the Patient Portal my account does not work. I try to reset the password and no email is ever sent. I sent a email through their contact page and left a VM at the phone number provided.
I had my initial meeting with them back at the beginning of February, when I got my first prescription filled. I never had the follow up, so little worried about that.
Hallandale Vials - Inject air?
So both times I’ve gone to draw up my meds from the Hallandale multi-use vial I’ve REALLY struggled to get it. Like it takes several tries to get enough liquid into the syringe. Occurred to me when I injected today (afterward) that it was because I hadn’t broken the vacuum by injecting air into the vial. Because the instructions from Hallandale didn’t say to do that, so I assumed there was a reason I shouldn’t. But now I think maybe the instructions are leaving that out and I should’ve been injecting air.
Does anyone know if I’m meant to inject air into the vial? (I sent a message to Hallandale support asking them directly as well and will share here if/when they respond.)
Follow-up
Hi— not sure who the point of contact for admin is anymore. I used to follow the Facebook group and get answers there but look like it’s not currently open. I had my follow up appt about 10 days ago now and I haven’t seen any fees charged or any notice about medication being shipped. If admin or anyone can point me in the right direction, I’d appreciate it. Thanks!
Units question
I’ve been using the unit measurements based on this chart that came with the meds. Just finished the 4th week and it seems like I have a lot left. Am I missing anything? I am wondering if I injected less than I was supposed to.
EDIT: On the bottle it says 9mg, 2mL vial inject weekly ~0.25. Now I understand that they add extra but I only used half.
⚜️All pending Apo are going out today
New Life has told me that all pending through 5/15 orders for Big Easy will be out today (they actually said even more recent ones, but I’m more concerned about the old ones).
They also said that they don’t anticipate any stock issues and their turn around times should be quick.
Thank y’all for your patience
Dave
Finally going to start dosing question
Well I’m finally opening my box of meds and going to start with my shots. I thought I could figure out the dosing but stopped and thought I should ask because I want to do it properly. If my dose is 2.5 and I received needles that are in increments of 10s up to 100 which is 1ml am I just pulling up to the first two lines of the needle? I want to order the needles that are in increments of 5 but for now this is what pharmacy sent. It’s really hard to even read what 2.5 is.
Any help would be so appreciated. Thanks!!!!
All 3 months at once or…
About to pull the trigger and order from BEWL for the first time (Tirz+B6 from BPI). I work outside the US for ~6 months per year, so typically I order what I need, and just take it with me, without worrying about monthly shipments.
Since it’s my first time ordering from BEWL- will they be shipping me the meds month to month, or will the pharmacy just send me boom, 3 months all up front, so that I can take it with me? I’m scheduled to leave for work July 10, and I prefer BPI pharmacy, so was thinking if I order now, I can take it with me and be good for 3 months (I still have 2 months of BPI in my fridge)
Any experience with this would be incredibly helpful before I order, thanks!
My meds arrived! Yay!
So here is my time line and hope it helps others. I had my appointment 5/8 via Healthie and the doctor was great. My prescription was sent to OptioRx for semaglutide. On 5/9 card charged. There was a bit of a void where there was no contact and I did reach out to staff. Thank you BEWL for being kind and giving grace to a nervous newb that is learning how it all works. 5/18 I get a text saying it’s arriving by UPS and 5/19 it arrived with all the supplies and plenty of ice during the hot day. My advice is to trust the process. I honestly had nothing to be nervous about, but hey, I’m human. Keep up the good work and being caring.
Hopeful but disappointed
I signed up and got my meds delivered but I have never been able to access my account, I keep getting sent a text that I'll get my magic code in my email. (No nothing is in my spam folder). I have text and email multiple times and have had 2 responses that it was escalated. I was hopeful in switching to this company as a lot of the reviews were speaking highly of customer service. I do not like that I paid for something, got it delivered yet I cannot access my account where my payment method is stored and cannot speak to anyone with questions about the medicine.
I also was not aware it would send 3 months of 1 dose upfront. I wanted to go up a dose after the 1st month as I've been on the same dose already and sent in my previous prescription.
Turned to here to hopefully get some help or information since it's going on 2 weeks now with no further help.
⚜️Platform / Issues update
Hey y'all,
I know we're not knocking it out of the park like we usually do, and I want to give you an update on what's impacting us at the margins.
Platform:
- Our new portal has a significant issue on two fronts. For whatever reason, the "magic link" isn't being sent when patients request it. We're getting a lot of emails about this and escalating every single one to the platform. We don't have an ETA on a fix, and there's no interim workaround short of requesting a live appointment, which routes you back to our old platform, Healthie.
- Certain patients who exit the new signup are getting archived by the platform and have to be reactivated. The platform still can't tell us why and is investigating. They've suggested a temporary workaround of creating an alias email address (the "." or "+" trick), but that's not ideal.
- The platform and our pharmacies had communication issues around prescription modifications, which left a number of prescriptions pending. That's been resolved, and those should all push out today or tomorrow.
- The platform isn't showing real-time shipping information. Patients are often getting texts from the pharmacy (and sometimes the prescriptions themselves) before anything updates in the new portal. They're working on it.
On the positive side: when the platform works, it works wonderfully. It's making it easy for our staff and physicians to push prescriptions out quickly, and it's been smooth sailing for the overwhelming majority of patients. Still, that's not good enough.
Pharmacies:
- Apo/New Life has told us they should be fully caught up and back to a 2-3 day turnaround this week, and potentially back to next-day turnaround next week. I previously outlined their delayed shipping issues here, and those issues impacted every platform, not just us. When we get inquiries through the portal, we do ask for updates, but New Life is buried with patients from us and every other platform they serve. They simply don't have updates to give us, which means we don't have updates to give you beyond the timelines we share publicly. This isn't us or our staff being evasive; and I promise you they aren't trying to be rude. We genuinely don't have more to share, and they are just as frustrated as you are on not being able to help.
- As mentioned previously, to help meet demand they prioritized the larger 36mg and 72mg vials, which inadvertently delayed patients prescribed 18mg vials. We told them to go ahead and send the larger 36mg vials instead. Those substitutions started Friday and should wrap up today and tomorrow, with orders going out as they complete.
I cannot stand not being able to get your medication to you faster, and I HATE sharing commitments from others that then don't get fulfilled.
We're working on adding more processes and pharmacy partners to prevent this from happening again, but with how chaotic this space can be, I can't promise it won't come up again. What I can promise is that we'll work nonstop to minimize delays and keep improving our platform and procedures so the impact on you stays minimal.
There's a concept I push with our team: 90% satisfaction isn't good, and 99% isn't even good enough. To put it in perspective, if we had 3,000 patients in a month (not saying that's our number, just roll with me), 90% means 300 are unhappy. 99% still means 30 are unhappy. Even 99.9% means 3 are unhappy. This needs to work reliably, damn near perfectly, every single time. We may never be perfect, but that's always the goal, and if we can't get it right, we'll make it right.
We spent a lot of time walking through this philosophy with our platform and pharmacy partners over the weekend.
We're working on it folks, please bear with us as there is only so much control and information that we have on some of these items.
Thanks y'all,
Dave
