⚜️We're moving 100% from Apothecary to Hyalo starting tomorrow

Hey y'all,

Since we seem to be getting a lot of one-off requests for Hyalo, or people that are holding off orders till we can promise them Hyalo's 9 mo BUD, so after some conversation with New Life / Quaker, they've agreed to send out nothing but Hyalo for us!

Happy to answer questions below!

Thanks y'all,

David

⚜️Thinking about doing some giveaways...

Hey y'all,

We're kicking around doing some widespread giveaways for existing patients. Not really trying to do this as a promotion for new patients, but more of a thank you for patients that stick with us. Basic thought is to do 50-100 of these a month

We're thinking the basic criteria is going to be that you are a patient on your second order.

Here are some of our initial thoughts for giveaways:

What other ideas do you have?

How do you think we should run this to have people enter? Completely new to this idea.

Hey y’all,

We want to apologize for any confusion caused by pricing information that was temporarily displayed on our website.

Our team is correcting the website and reviewing the information to ensure everything displayed is accurate moving forward.

New Life Fulfillment - medication may come from Apothecary or Hyalo

Hey y’all,

As the title says, moving forward New Life fulfillment will either be Apothecary or Hyalo OR potentially both.

As has been our policy to date, we cannot guarantee BUD past that it will last the length of your prescription.

We will work with New Life to see when we can commit to providing all Hyalo to limit confusion.

Let me know if you have questions!

⚜️Major Pharmacy Announcement imminent

Hey y’all,

Happy Sunday!

As much as I’m sure I’ll get flamed for vague posting, I want y’all to know a major pharmacy announcement is coming, and will be available for prescriptions in likely 3 weeks.

No, I don’t have permission to announce yet.

Yes, it’s happening regardless.

Yes, you’ll care 😂

No, it’s nothing to do with New Life / Apo / Hyalo (I keep singing Moana in my head every time I read that, on a side note. Too many daughters).

What i will say is that we will be live with them day 1.

More as I can announce it!

⚜️Big Easy Summer Updates: New 503(b)s, more pharmacy options, platform updates, and Feedback on a special? ::gasp::

Happy Friday, y'all -

I've FINALLY got the greenlight to talk about the new 503(b)s I've been hinting at.

First up: Hyalo. They start distribution next week and will be available through New Life, with a 9-month BUD at launch. The formulation is identical to Apothecary, and I'm expecting the same concentrations and vial sizes, but I'll confirm that once I have it in writing.

Second, New Life is going into production with THEIR OWN 503(b), built from the ground up. First vials should be a few weeks out. I'm fairly certain they're launching with TZ (no added API), TZ + B12, and TZ + Glycine, also at a 9-month BUD.

We're also finalizing an offering for BPI's NAD+ (I'm excited about this one!).

All will be on our platform shortly.

Speaking of platforms, we're in the final stages of launching a brand new one, and we're adding a bunch of pharmacies with it. On top of Hyalo and New Life: HoustonRx, Southend, Vios, Optimum Balance, and more (in addition to the existing Hallandale, OptioRx, and Boudreaux's).

We're also onboarding 4-5 new physicians, that should add availability for some of our problem states (NC, NY, and the ever in demand CA in particular).

Now the part I owe y'all.

If you signed up with us during our last platform attempt, I'm sorry. Order accuracy was abysmal. Our team spent their days fixing orders instead of taking care of patients. What we have now is painfully manual, but it's right (or at least, if it's not we can make it right), and that's the whole point. We went looking for tech to streamline things and ended up creating a mountain of new work instead. Add the login problems, magic links that didn't work, and patient messages that would just vanish or auto-archive, and we decided to pull the plug until it could be fixed.

Six weeks ago we asked them to shut off new orders and follow-ups.

Then we found out they were still auto-charging and auto-renewing patients, something we'd asked to have disabled before we ever onboarded. We asked for fixes. When they didn't come fast enough, we started breaking things ourselves: the API connections to our payment processor, to our pharmacies, anything that would stop the charges. We turned off every notification in their system, and they still sent texts telling patients to check in with their physician.

That's not us, and it's not who we want to be for y'all. The whole situation is not ideal to put it lightly, and if you're having issues, please email us at krewe@joinbigeasy.com . We're taking our time with this new one, and I'm happy with where it's at and where's it's headed. More to show soon.

One more thing I'd like your feedback on - I got approached by a pharmacy distributor with an interesting prospect. Would you be interested in a 12-week treatment package where you would know it was coming from one of a few different pharmacies, and what the added API was (per your prescription decided with the physician), but you couldn't pic the pharmacy? You'd know it was one of 3 or 4 pharmacies, but wouldn't be able to pick which one. Same Big Easy care and service, same experience with a physician (or potentially asynch), but it'd be at a significant discount - like $449/12 weeks. My control freak self likes choosing every detail, but I know price is an issue for many, and there are some that are not pharmacy loyal, so I was curious to y'alls thoughts. Let me know below!

Thanks y'all,

⚜️ The peptide vote this week, and no we’re still not adding BPC-157…yet

Hey y’all,

I answer some version of this question probably four times a week, and after Thursday it’s going to be forty, so I’m writing it down once. 🤣

TL;DR: FDA’s advisory committee recommended six peptides for the 503A bulks list. Good news, doesn’t mean they’re legal to compound, probably won’t be for a couple years. We’re not adding them. Also this has nothing to do with TZ, please don’t let anyone tell you it does.

Usual disclaimer: not a physician, not a pharmacist, not an attorney, still have not stayed at a Holiday Inn Express. I run a telehealth platform so I’ve got money riding on how these questions shake out, factor that in however you want.

What happened

July 23 and 24 the Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee met on seven peptides: BPC-157, KPV, TB-500, MOTS-C, Emideltide (which you’ll see written as DSIP), Semax, Epitalon. Six got recommended. BPC-157 barely, 8-6 with an abstention. Emideltide was the only one that didn’t make it and it lost by one vote.

FDA’s own staff had told them to reject all seven. Incomplete characterization, thin human data, immunogenicity. Committee listened and voted yes anyway, which is not a thing this committee does.

Last panel that looked at this category went zero for the slate.

The reason is that the committee is composed differently now, more clinicians and pharmacists, fewer academics. Yes, some of the new members have industry ties and people are already saying so. I don’t have a strong take there. Panels stacked entirely with researchers who’ve never seen a patient on this stuff have their own problem, and I’d rather have both kinds in the room than pretend either one is the objective one.

So why aren’t we doing it

Because a recommendation is not a rule.

PCAC advises. FDA decides, and FDA has blown off PCAC before. What’s left is internal review, then a proposed rule, then comment period, then final rule, then an effective date. Historically that’s two to four years. Sometimes way longer. The final rule stage on its own has taken so long that FDA has gotten sued over dragging its feet.

There’s a faster version where FDA sticks them in the interim Category 1 bucket for 503Bs and lets 503As operate under enforcement discretion in the meantime. That would be the sensible thing. It’s also completely optional and I’m not going to stand up an offering on the theory that the agency is about to do the sensible thing.

The thing that’s actually going to happen this week

Every peptide vendor with an Instagram is going to post this vote like it’s a permission slip.

It isn’t.

What got voted on was whether licensed pharmacies should eventually be allowed to compound these against a real prescription. That is a completely separate universe from research-use-only vials shipped out of a warehouse by someone whose entire regulatory strategy is a disclaimer in six point font.

Nothing about Thursday made any of that more legal than it was on Wednesday. If anything it should make you more suspicious of anyone using it as a selling point, because they’re the ones who benefit from you not reading past the headline.

I’ve watched this exact move run three or four times now with GLP news. Shortage list updates, the OFA litigation, the guidance restatements. Every single time, some vendor turns a procedural development into a marketing email within 72 hours.

And it’s not about TZ

Completely different track. The thing that matters for us is still the proposal to remove glps from the 503B Bulks List, and this week did not touch it. If you see this vote screenshotted with a caption suggesting tz is coming back or whatever, that person didn’t read it.

Happy to answer questions but the short answer to “when” is I don’t know and neither does anybody else. 😂

Thanks y’all,
Dave

Novo Sues Lilly over misleading advertising

You just hate to see it. Or something. 😂

Novo Nordisk filed a lawsuit against Eli Lilly, alleging that its advertising campaigns for its blockbuster obesity and diabetes drugs are designed to mislead consumers about their superior efficacy relative to the Danish drugmaker’s rival injections.

Novo Nordisk is specifically taking issue with nationwide ads that cite what it called “outdated” clinical trials to compare the highest doses of Lilly’s medicines to lower doses of Novo’s drugs.

Novo asked the court to permanently stop Lilly from running the ads and require the drugmaker to issue corrective advertising.

⚜️Tropical Storm Bertha Update

Hey y’all,

As most of our neighbors down here already know, there's a tropical system brewing in the Gulf that's headed toward Southeast Louisiana, with parts of Florida and Texas keeping a close watch too. We wanted to reach out personally, the way we always try to do, and let you know what's on our radar.
Here's the honest truth: some of our pharmacy partners are located right in the path this storm may take.

We're watching the forecast closely, just like you probably are, and we're already coordinating to make sure your care doesn't skip a beat.

The good news? We work with pharmacies all across the country, not just here at home. So if weather does disrupt operations anywhere in the affected area, we have backup pharmacies ready to fill and ship your medication with as little delay as possible.

What this means for you:
• Keep doing what you're doing - there's nothing you need to do differently right now.
• If you're due for a refill soon, it doesn't hurt to place your order a few days early, just in case shipping gets a little slower than usual.
• Our team is here and watching this closely, and we'll update you directly if anything changes with your specific order.

We've weathered plenty of storms down here, in every sense of the word, and we don't take our patients' care lightly. We'll keep you posted, and in the meantime - stay safe, stay dry, and know we've got your back.

Thanks y’all,

Some simple software fixes for The Lucid Air

Hey y'all —

Not sure if Lucid actually monitors these forums, but most of these are simple software fixes that seem worth implementing:

  1. Phone button (UX). Right now, tapping the phone button just brings up a screen saying CarPlay is active. It should instead take me straight into Apple CarPlay's phone app. My old BMW iX did this even though it had its own separate phone system as well.
  2. Rear seat climate control. My kids aren't heavy enough for the car to register that anyone's in the back seat, so they don't get climate control on automatically. The car already knows whether a rear seatbelt is buckled, that should be enough to trigger rear climate, regardless of weight.
    1. Also - I need to look further into this but their weight doesn't seem to trigger the new 'seat belt check' in 2.10... which seems counter intuitive for small kids.
  3. Rear camera accuracy. When the display shows my bumper right on top of a line, I'm actually about 12 inches away. This should be recalibrated.
  4. Face login. Just tell me where to position my face. I'm too high, too low, or the steering wheel is in the way. It's more complicated than it needs to be, and I usually give up. Still haven't set this up.
  5. Valet Parking. Really clear, easy instructions on how to valet park this car with just the key card and no PIN. I don't need to spend 5 minutes explaining how to park my car to a valet. Hell, put the instructions on the back of the keycard.
  6. Request a Software Update. Don't make me guess what version of software I am supposed to be on. Just tell me if there is an update available, and if it's staggered, when it's supposed to be rolled out. Maybe with more notes than just "robustness," but hey that might be a big ask 🤣
    1. The real functional part of this is that this would allow me to request an update while in a good wifi spot.
  7. LED Control. Give me an 'advanced' function where I can have more fun with the colors!

App Questions:

  1. Scheduled climate control. Y'all. Why can't I have my car heat up/cool down at the same times every day? I could schedule the morning, lunch, and evening on my iX.
  2. Remote Camera Access. Why can't I access the cameras on my phone? Again, I think i got used to this on my iX. I mean really, I want a drive recorder. But I'll take what I can here.
  3. Remote Window Venting. I should be able to remote roll down my windows if I like.
  4. Better Data for Charging. My old app told me how much energy I used over the course of a month, my average efficiency, how much I was costing myself in charging off my local rates, even an ETA for charge completion. Another feature from the iX. (Really did like that car - but I gotta say, the i5 is a joke comparable to the Lucid, which is why I switched)

Other general suggestions:

  1. Glass canopy IR gap. Not an easy fix, but maybe for future versions of the car. I really dislike that the IR pass-through opening isn't positioned under the sun visor. Such a clean look that needs to be broken up by a stupid sticker.
  2. Rear Mats. So, I had a 2026 Touring, but it got totalled and got a 2025 Grand Touring. I get that the mats aren't going to fit perfectly, but was pleasantly surprised I could use the front mats with no issue. Rather annoyed I can't just buy a new rear mat, and I have to buy a completely new set.

Any other easy fixes? Anyone know how to get this to Lucid?

⚜️ Summer TZ survey! Please take a moment to help us out!

Happy Tuesday, y'all!

u/TodayAmazing is back with the New Summer Survey on the big sub!

If you have a few moments, please fill it out. The data helps us understand how we stack up against other options, where we can improve, and what actually matters to this community. It’s also become a genuinely useful starting point for newcomers trying to figure out where to begin.

The fact that so many of you have become vocal advocates for us - completely organically, no referral links, no influencer deals - still amazes me more than I can articulate. Your support (and your feedback) is what keeps this going.

These past 2 months haven't been our best with our attempt to transition to (and then ultimately abandon) a new platform (Bask), but we're still here striving to make this as safe and sustainable as we can for you. If you're still struggling or disappointed with any interaction you've had with us, please reach out to me - we really do want ot make it right and it really is the only thing that makes us better.

We have some really amazing stuff I'm hoping to launch soon, and some new staff I'm excited to introduce.

Stay tuned!

DEATH TO CHOCOLATES!

Not the GLP post you were expecting, I’m sure 😂

I humbly request all restaurants rename their “Death by Chocolate” deserts to “Death TO Chocolate” for the US game vs Belgium.

Maybe a boycott on Belgium waffles, too.

That is all.

Admittedly this is a delayed crap talking post because I couldn’t come up with anything good about our matchup against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Like a bad Yugo joke was the best I could come up with, but that seemed like a bit of a deep cut 😂
