My son (6 months) had multiple reactions to oats and was diagnosed with FPIES this week. The allergists son actually has it too, so it was an easy diagnosis after hearing my son’s symptoms.

Just wondering if anyone has any advice to offer. We’re cutting all grains from his diet (or at least as much as we feasibly can, since he’s allergic to oats and the allergist said he’s likely to be allergic to others as well). I make my own baby food for him, but man that’s a lot of foods for him ti no longer be allowed.

Best brands for flat nail beds

Looking for recommendations for the best brands for flat nails. I’ve tried Kiss and Glamnetic, and they only last maybe 5 days tops before I get lifting and pop-offs. I’ve tried glue, tabs, and both together and the differences in length of wear is negligible.

Retail brand: none

Salon X-tend nail option

Retail brand: none

Howdy! I have this gel adhesive but I’ve been reading through some of the posts here and wanted to check these nails would be safe to use with them. They’re not fully clear but they’re fairly opaque and I can see through them, so I would assume the UV light would penetrate through but I don’t want to risk the damage if im wrong. Any opinions/advice?

So Sad

Took my nails off for the girls to breathe, and of course, ended up slicing through my nail and taking a chunk of it down to the bed while cutting veggies (not a bad injury, just literally scraped the nail off. Didn’t even bleed), and now I can’t wear my press ons. I’m tempted to put them on all the nails that I didn’t damage but I’m sad.

Retail brand: none.

First Focaccia Attempt

Need to work on the water and seasonings ratio but definitely not a bad first attempt (would share the recipe but I don’t really have one…)

It finally happened

And it happens to us all: I cut myself chopping veggies yesterday. Blade went right through my index finger nail and took a chunk of the nail down to the quick/skin under the nail. Hurts like a B, been using bandaids but they keep coming off. Anyone had this happen/have any advice?

The worst part is I took my acrylics off that morning so my nails could breathe. Had I waited an hour or two, it would’ve damaged my manicure and not my actual nail 🥲

Trying tabs this time

Retail Brand: Glamnetics ‘Til Death

Trying the glue tabs this time to see if we can last a little longer and not have bubbles.

Howdy!

In 2020 I was diagnosed with Grave’s. Was very lucky to go into remission with medication/diet changes in 2021/2022(?) and have been in remission ever since.

Until I had my son. My tests were normal all through my pregnancy last year and at my most recent Endo follow up my TSH was trending down but within normal limits. I started having pain in my lower right side awhile ago, thought it was nothing, but then had hyper symptoms and got checked and my TSH is borderline low, negative antibodies, but my endocrinologist felt a nodule in the exact same spot I had a large node when I first was diagnosed. I have an ultrasound tomorrow to confirm a presence of a nodule/goiter, but my endo mentioned toxic nodules being a possibility. I know I’d need an uptake scan to confirm, but we’d cross that bridge after the ultrasound.

BASICALLY I’d like to know what everyone’s experiences with toxic nodules have been, treatments you’ve done and anything associated with them, etc. Bonus points if you’re a freshly postpartum/breastfeeding mama like myself.

Trying not to worry *too* much but, well, here we are.

Basically what the title says. I’ve tried brow rice flour and it hasn’t worked (it’s me, hi. I’m the one who can’t sourdough starter and keeps posting here for help lol). I just made some cinnamon rolls with King Arthur’s GF bread flour, which has wheat but it’s the starch with the gluten removed. I had so much success with the cinnamon rolls that it made me wonder if I could use it as flour for sourdough starter. If you did, tell me how you did it or a recipe to follow because I’d love to try it!

Retail Brand: Kiss Core Magnetic Shimmer and Shine

First off, there are obvious air pockets and if you’ve got recommendations on avoiding them, please share. I have flat nail beds, and I didn’t see the glue/glue tab method until after I did these but I’ll be trying that next time.

Second, I’ve been doing press ons off and on for the last couple years and they never last more than maybe a day or two no matter what I try. This time, I tried some of the tips mentioned here (I had no idea Reddit had a press on nail group, I’m excited!)

Otherwise, my pointer finger nails should’ve been the next size down, but I thought they fit at the time.

Process: buffed the nail until no longer shiny, lightly buffed the underside of the press on, used alcohol pad to clean my nail and the underside of the fake nail, brushed on glue (Jofay brand - it was all I had), pressed *hard* for 30 seconds, rinse and repeat for all nails before trimming, shaping and buffing.
