I was going to skip this month. Collecting the bi-centennials are keeping me buying. LOL! I haven't bought every one of the offset collection - this one just sounded interesting. The weird cover on these is a bit unsettling. lol Love the interiors of the Bi-centennials though!
Inspired by the Vampire post earlier...I'm a huge werewolf fan. I am wondering if folks have good recs for werewolf graphic novels/trades/prose books that aren't just Dark Romances.
The one comic book series I know of that is werewolf centric (and I have) is Moonshine. I know Marvel had a Native American centric comic series where the characters turned into werewolves and I can't remember what it's called (I'm a DC gal) and other than the sort of recent mini-series of it that I can't remember the title of...is the older stuff easily attainable? I saw the makers of Invincible put out a Wolf Man trade recently but I don't know if I need to know anything about the main series to enjoy that one or not. So, preferably self contained if is better. Didn't Image put out one a few years ago or was that vampires (other than Moonshine, obvs)? I can't remember. lol

Page 1 - Ended up grabbing the Beasts of Burden Omnibus because it was cheaper than trying to get all the other single trades I didn't have. WE3, Laika, A Cat Story were recommended. In finding those recommendations I found Redwall which ticks two of my boxes - animal stories and graphic novel adaptations of books - so I was stoked to find it!
Page 2 - Bunnicula was recommended (and I would have gotten this anyway as soon as I saw it because this is one of my favorite series from childhood). Inkblot and Strayed are trades that I'm switching the singles for the trades. They are just easier to store. LOL! And, of course, another one that is animal stories and a book adaptation. :D

Basically last month I decided to catch up on my series that I had gotten behind on. And this month I've been adding new things to the collection. I love animal based stories and I love having graphic novel adaptations of prose books so that's what I've been focusing on. I've also started replacing singles I bought with trades because they are easier to store. LOL!
Page 1: Had to grab Books 3 and 4 to get them matching with my Books 1&2.
Page 2: Picked up that random Department of Truth Book that has the cryptid storyline in it. I've got Vol. 2 in my wishlist for picking up later. I also picked up the latest Die volume.
Page 3: I was waaaaaaayyyy behind on SiKtC. I think I had up to volume 5 or 6 of the main run, the first three of HoS, and the first two BoS. I love Tynion's work and I've been slowly collecting his other stuff as well.
Page 4: I had up to Volume 5 or 6 of Lore Olympus so grabbed those up to current.
Page 5: Grabbed the Beasts of Burden Omnibus because it was cheaper than trying to get the rest of the singles. Unico was recommended to me because I like animal stories. Inkblot (the second volume is on its way) is the start of replacing the singles I liked. Dungeon Crawler Carl, The Hobbit, and Redwall are new to my graphic novel book adaptations section.
Page 6: TKaMB, AWiT, and 1984 added to my graphic novel adaptations and WE3, Laika, and A Cat Story recommended to me as good animal stories.
I just got the omnibus so I figured I'd get rid of the singles I have. I also have the stand alone trade of Animal Rites if anyone is interested in that. These are all bagged and boarded. Read once and put in a comic box. Very good condition+

Is this a Jay of some sort? The slight head crest, straight beak, and rectangular tail feathers is setting off Jay vibes but I don't know if I'm even in the ballpark. lol
These were my grandfather's. I started reading them when I was around 12 or so. Every time I went to their house I'd get one and read it and then bring it back to get the next one. I read several of them although I never got through all of them because schoolwork overtook most of the extra time I had as I got older. LOL!
When he passed away a couple of years ago all I asked for were these books. He was working on getting the entire collection in these older editions. I'm not sure why he multiples but I remember him telling me he had a list of ones he still needed in his wallet when I was kid so I'm assuming he bought duplicates on accident. LOL!
I want to complete the collection. I need to go through them and figure out which ones I'm missing. If anyone knows anything or has leads on ones I'm missing, please let me know!
Been collecting animal based comic trades for the last several years (worked at a comic book store 6-7 years ago when it all started lol). For the series ones I only showed the first one in the series.
Page 1 - Animosity, Watership Down, Beasts of Burden: Animal Rites, and Scurry. I need to grab the other Beasts of Burden books as I only have this one, but I do have one of the other stories in single issues though (which is why I didn't get the trade. However, I find trades easier to store these days so trying to convert).
Page 2 - The Autumn Lands, Unnatural, 920 London (this was a random find from a collection that someone brought into the comic book store I used to work at. I have no other information on it), Maneaters, and Sengi and Tembo. I meant to put my BattleCats trade in this picture too and I forgot it!
Page 3 - The original Usagi Yojimbo comics in a two book special edition with slipcase. I need to get the new ones in trade format. I have a bunch of them as singles so I didn't get the trades originally.
Picture 4 - Pride of Baghdad, BattlePug, Cult of the Lamb (a Kickstarter I backed), Cryptid Club (they count, right?), Animal Stories, The Nixie of the Mill Pond and other European Stories, Animal Farm (I love getting graphic novel versions of prose books. I have several and just picked up To Kill a Mockingbird today) and Centaurs (I bought this thinking it was a comic trade. Turns out it's a Manga. I haven't gotten the rest of the series yet).
Picture 5 - My newspaper animal comics collection. I just have that first one for the Disney comics. I got it for Christmas this year. I'll slowly work on getting the rest of them. Same for the Garfield Fat Packs...I'm slowly working on getting them as there are over 20 of them! Garfield is my favorite newspaper comic strip along with Bizarro. Does anyone know if Dan ever had book collections printed of Bizarro? Good Ol' Snoopy is one of my oldest books. My dad took me to a library sale and I picked it out. I was probably 6 or 7 years old. Garfield Full Course 2 and Calvin and Hobbes 3/4 are missing because they are on my TBR shelf I started recently. I have 5 normal books on it and some trades I want to get through. I read a normal sized book then I read enough in trades to equal a normal sized book and go back and forth so I can work through both of my TBRs. Currently reading the Calvin and Hobbes one.
Page 6 - I pre-ordered this one as a teenager from our small-town book store. I scrimped and saved to be able to afford a $50 book at that time! It's seen better days. I had some hard times as a young adult and it's damaged because of that including smoke damage from when we used to smoke inside (hubby and I quit 20+ years ago!)
Page 7 - Found this one while I taking a picture of the Pooh book for someone else. I didn't even remember I had this. Who doesn't love Richard Scarry?!
Page 8 and 9 - The front and back of this cool Oracle/Tarot deck I found as a young adult. The artwork is gorgeous and hubby used the cloth that came with it on his alter for a long time.
Was planning on skipping this month but didn't want to miss out on the centennial book so, somehow, ended up with five AND checked off another recommendation from post of underrated gems I asked last year. LOL! The interiors of these centennial books are so pretty!
Is there anyone out there that throws away their dust jackets that would be willing to ship me their Red City jacket?
I finished the book tonight and went to put the dust jacket back on and found out my adorable void demon spawn has chewed along the bottom of mine halfway around the entire jacket. -.-
