So, I was a homeless 18 year old. On the streets on Christmas day.

On boxing day I arrived at a hostel in my local town, scared as a kitten. I met some people there and introduced myself to the staff to try and get a room. "Your too posh to be here!" One guy called neil said. A fella I would get to know and who would help sneak a chicken into my room, but that's another story...

I sat in the waiting room of the hostel, expecting the red carpet treatment at any moment into my room. That didn't happen, but what did happen was the arrival of a nice man named Scott. A man with a shaven head who looked like he would knock you out for even thinking of looking at him. In my naivety, I spoke with him and ended up tagging along with him to a house he was staying at. "This is one of my houses, but you have to be quiet as I don't want the lodgers knowing I am here" got it! I thought, no problems there of course...

We ended up staying there the night in the living room, talking and chatting crap as you do when you're drinking.

He had recently been released from Broadmoor hospital. A reputable mental hospital in England known for holding some very famous people such as the krays. ( I forget which )

​

He said he had attacked a paedophile and pleaded insanity to get less time, but ended up in Broadmoor as a result. For 11 or 13 years, I can't remember the exact time as it's been nearly 14 years.

​

He was a lovely guy to me and I never thought he was capable of doing the things he said he did...

​

That was until a few months later, I was I still homeless at that point and I met a guy from Bermuda called Carlos, he said he had a place I could stay, a lady he sees is very kind and takes in people like me.

Brilliant I thought, a place to stay... I won't be cold tonight...

​

As we arrived at the house, I realised it was the same house I had been to a couple of months prior with Scott. "Oh this is Scott's house"

"What the fuck did you say?"

​

"This is Scott's house, right?"

​

At this point, ailie, the actual owner of the house pops her head out

​

"What you doing outside my house and whos this with you now"

​

"Hello I've been here before, Scott showed me here before"

​

At this point she bolts inside and runs downstairs and literally drags me in the house.

​

"Scott let you in my house? When?! Did he have keys???"

​

It got a little heated, not towards me but for the fact that Scott had a set of keys for the house. Now you see, Scott was absolutely mental, he had beat ailie many times and even threw her puppy dog against the wall. He was rightfully put in Broadmoor.

​

Ailie let me in the house eventually, even if it was reluctantly, but she treated me like her own son whilst I was there.

​

When I first arrived, both Carlos and ailie were acting a little weird, so I asked them why. Ailie said to me,

​

"now look here boy, some things are gonna happen in this room tonight and I don't want you to think that this is normal. What we are about to do is disgusting and if I ever see you doing it, I'll smack ya round the head. Crack and heroin aren't something anyone should be doing."

​

She and he then proceeded to smoke this pink crack and snort some heroin. A completely new experience for me as I'd never seen anyone doing it.

​

The night carried on and I ended up in bed at around 2am, I was then awoken at 6am by Carlos coming through the room having been thrown by ailie...

​

I assumed they woke up, but now I realise they were probably still awake and arguing...

​

Carlos ended up dragging me out of bed and taking me with him as he didn't want me staying with ailie when he was being kicked out.

​

This is just the tip of the iceberg for this story. If anyone is remotely interested I could write up some more. All 100% true. Sadly ailie is dead now, she died in front of me of an overdose, but I still have a lot of stories about her.

Hello there, my girlfriend is currently in full time work and claiming PIP, she is on the lower rate which seems absolutely crazy to me seeing that half my family are on higher rate and there is literally nothing wrong with them.

She currently has 15k in savings

I am wondering if there is any way she would be able to claim something more than this lower rate of pip which is about £300 a month.

Her arm is damaged from a brachial plexus injury, so it won't be getting any better and if anything, the more she uses her other arm in her current line of work, the less she will be able to do as she already has the starting of carpel tunnel in her good hand.

She wants to quit the current job but doesn't want to be reliant on me, so this is why I am trying to help her claim more benefits.

We have tried to re-do the claim, but from her answers she always ends up on the lower rate, she is incredibly capable of doing pretty much everything, so I am worried she won't be able to get anything more.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We have swallows nesting in the shed, at least one pair is in there but there could be more as there is a few around here.

I was outside having a coffee and one flew in, had a look inside my cupboard that was open and flew off. They are the fastest birds I've ever seen.

I was a little worried I'd run out, but I simply booked an appointment for yesterday at 1230, the doctor called at 1210 and apologised for calling early, I didn't mind as I kind of forgot about the appointment as I booked it last week.

Appointment was short and sweet. She said I'd be approved within 10 days, so I asked if I should order more from curaleaf in the meantime. She didn't advise me either way and said she couldn't, which is fair. I didn't order as I have about 20g left here so I wasn't panicked just yet.

Anyway, approved today and I picked what I wanted, not like curaleaf where they just give you whatever.

All in all a great experience. 10/10

Can I get a summary of care from curaleaf and just move on over?
