How is Steam Compatibility On Odin 3 Pro/Max?
I am interested in the handheld gaming space, but the steam deck is almost a thousand dollars, and so are other x86 handhelds. Soon, I found the AYN Odin 3 online, and it caught my attention because of its ability to play (some) steam games. I watched a video about it from Wulff Den on YT, and it seemed like support was very limited, as it only ran lightweight 3d and indie titles. Is the game support a lot better now, or should I just keep my money and save it for something else? For reference, the most demanding title I own is EA Battlefront 2.
Should I Get it?
Before I saw this listing, I was set on acquiring a Core One L, but now I have conflicting thoughts of what to purchase. Thus, I am outsourcing my thinking to reddit because you're more knowledgeable than I am.
Basically, I own an A1 with an AMS lite, but because of the controversial decisions made by bambu lab, I think I'm going to be switching to open-source printers that can be somewhat-easily fixed and upgraded whenever you need to do so. Soon after this, I checked out prusa3d. They had all sorts of open-source printers, the mk4s, the xl, and also the Core One L which caught my attention. I wanted to get it because it will have the bondtech toolchanger that creates minimal waste, and also because it had a build volume higher than the A1's. The printer seemed to have so many great features, but the price set me off. It *basically* costs more than a month's rent for a house in South Florida! I turned to ebay and facebook marketplace, but ebay only sold new models for basically the same price as prusa3d.com, and marketplace had absolutely no Core One L printers (in my area). I searched for other printers on marketplace for a while, and I found this listing pretty close to home for a perfectly functional prusa mini, and an ender 3 pro that needs some "adjustments". Is this worth it, or should I save up for a brand new Core One L?
TLDR; I have an A1 but don't like BBL's anti-consumer decisions rn, I want a prusa, core one l looks cool, has a larger build volume than the A1, but costs a month's rent in some areas, i found this listing for a functional prusa with a creality that needs some work, idk if i should save up for a core one l or buy these printers.
Core One+ vs XL. (Migrating from Bambu)
I currently have a Bambu Lab A1 printer, but due to their repeated anti-FOSS actions, I’m going to convert to Prusa if I buy a new machine sometime soon. I’m just not sure if I should purchase the Core One+ or the XL since both offer great features. Here’s an analysis of what they have and lack:
Core One+ Pros:
- Comes with enclosure
- 360 cooling
- Options for MMU3
- Wide support of filament
- Cheap *ish*
Core One+ Cons:
- Smaller than XL
- Slightly Smaller than A1
- MMU3 makes poop
OG Prusa XL Pros:
- Massive build volume
- Add more tool heads if you want
- Basically no poop
- Wide support of filament*
- FAST
OG Prusa XL Cons:
- Cost more than somebody’s rent
- *Pay for an enclosure
- Might be hard for a Prusa newbie?
Based on your experience with Prusa printers, what do you think I should get if I’m migrating from an A1?
