How would you protect my base?

Having just defeated Moder I’m sure raids will soon become much harder, however I’ve never progressed this far into the game before and haven’t had to think about base defences against Plains enemies.

I’ve seen and read through threads showing earth walls and essentially moats around bases but since my base currently sits along the waters edge, will this be an issue?

I’ve stock piled a decent amount of stone so I could build a wall against the water to prevent entry from that side, but of course that’s only one portion of the base. Although, since I spent so much time constructing this base and finding a good all-round location, I’d like to install the structures provided by the artisan table here.

As you might be able to also tell I’m not a seasoned base builder, it took a significant amount of raw brain power to construct what are essentially Viking warehouses… the current defences were only installed and kept on a somewhat temporary basis before building something more permanent, and they’ve been kept for a while since mountain raids were actually quite underwhelming in terms of difficulty.

So based on this, as well as the imagery and the topography, what would you do or what defences do you prefer to protect your base with?

Blurry EQ image

Captured this of the Iris nebula last night. First time using the EQ wedge for a long duration, totalling 2hrs 50m integration time, and the image seems to have come out really blurry. Any ideas why from the picture itself? In the second image of the subs I’ve captured, the previews seem to show the subject not staying in the same place in each image as well.

Other imagery I’ve capture recently also seems to have the stars blowing out somewhat since I’ve began using EQ mode, I believe everything’s calibrated correctly, in fact this image captured last night was captured when the Seestar was angled perfectly. Isn’t exactly an error I want to continue replicating.

Bright and noisy images whilst shooting

Shooting with my S30 and the image seems to be quite light as I’ve began shooting. There’s also some noise/static at the edges of the frame, anyone know what this is or how to eliminate it? Is this normal?
Quite a new user and have just began using EQ mode.

UK based airline have just told me the hotel included in my package holiday has been over booked. What can I do?

So essentially I booked a Jet2, based in Manchester England, Holiday several weeks ago and paid around £950 each for an all inclusive week in Majorca. I’ve always been picky about hotels but didn’t have much choice due to booking slightly later than desired but found a decent hotel that satisfied myself and my partner.

Today she received a call, “The hotel has overbooked and we can offer you an equivalent hotel”. This hotel was in fact a waterpark hotel in Magaluf. On paper they’re the equivalent (same star rating & board), however the reviews, the room type and area of the island are all very different.

I’ve just spent 2 hours on the phone with their Ops team trying to sort this only to be told I can have a holiday for the equivalent value, plus a £150 extra as good will. This isn’t acceptable in my opinion due to the simple fact that we are due to leave on TUESDAY. Three days notice we’ve been given and they’ll only give hotels of a very similar value - nothing more. My argument of course is that any hotel that would’ve been around the same price is now far more expensive due to the fact the booking will be made for 3 days time, so therefore anything for the same price will not be of the equivalent value since it would’ve been cheaper when we booked months ago.
Of course I’m not going for hotels that are double the price, but the hotels I believe are on par with what I booked are now more expensive.

My question is what can I do? Their escalation process takes up to 3 days which I don’t have and their team isn’t willing to budge on any hotel over £150. What, if any, law or legal process can I call on at such short notice to remedy this situation?

I hope the amount of information is sufficient, please let me know of any additional info you believe will help.

Beginning my investment journey

So I’ve finally began my journey of investing (after some research and saving a comfortable amount in boosted savings) and I’m just looking for any insight/advice going forward.

I’m committed to consistently investing about £1k per month (young and lucky in this economy) and have been splitting it between VWRP and the “magnificent 7” community pie. My thoughts were VWRP for longevity and stability, and “magnificent 7” for some quicker gains (currently about double the interest of VWRP).

I only started a month ago, have just reinvested and want to continue consistently for a significant period of time so any insights/advice would be greatly appreciated.

IN IT FOR THE LONG RUN
