Hey all,

Need some advice.

The internet connection on my current PC is not working properly despite the rest of the system working fine. The onboard Realtek 2.5GbE Ethernet controller is completely non-functional and will not connect even with a physical cable. When using a Wi-Fi dongle, the system consistently shows a weak signal of only two bars even if a phone hotspot is placed directly next to the computer. This causes extreme lagging during online games. Switching to a different Wi-Fi dongle did not improve the signal or the lag, and attempting to use a USB-to-Ethernet adapter for a wired connection as well as a USB to dongle (to get the dongle far from the computer) also failed to work entirely. The only way the internet works perfectly is when a phone is connected specifically via USB tethering. Every attempted software fix, including driver updates, BIOS adjustments, and power cycling, has failed to resolve the issue and all changes have been reverted. The system is running an Intel i5-13400F and an RTX 4070 Ti on an ASUS PRIME B760M-K D4 motherboard with 32GB of DDR4 RAM and Windows 11 Home Build 26200.

At this point I think it may be a motherboard issue as I've read this motherboard may have had issues like this in the past. If anyone has any advice I'd be very grateful.

Thanks!
