authenticity check - Flowerpot VP1 &TRADITION

Just bought 3x Flowerpot VP1s from an online retailer, they were advertised as &TRADITION. They were shipped from Hong Kong to me in Australia.

They look genuine to me, just thought I'd double check with what others think! Thanks

Thinking Antique White USA + Ceiling white, thoughts?

Any thoughts? (wall plaster will be finished before paint)

  • Antique White USA (walls)
  • Antique White USA semi gloss (wood work + skirting)
  • Ceiling white (ceilings)

Mainly tossing up between Antique White USA vs Natural white. I reckon I prefer the warmth of Antique White USA

Feedback on light locations?

  • Finalising light locations
  • Will be down lights and then pendants over the island & table
  • There are cables w/ service loop so there is a bit of flexibility for the final locations
  • Currently thinking
    • Two in the bulk head above sink area (so there isn't a shadow when you're working in that space (there is a 3rd light cable in this area that I could put above the walking space (in front of the dishwasher for example), but I thought maybe it isn't necessary.
    • There will be a strip light underneath the overheads on the 4m wall.
  • Any thoughts or feedback welcome!

I’m leaning towards 1/2 offset as I think that may result in less small cuts on the edges of the room, would you go 1/3 offset?
- 600 x 300mm floor tiles (wall tiles will be 100 x 100mm)
- 2 x 2m room
- strip drain in shower so shouldn’t need angled cuts in shower
- will be placing them with long 600mm edge left to right looking into room from the doorway
- There is no floor waste because it’s ground floor. Planning to just have a slight fall towards the shower end if the room in the case that shower/toilet/sink flood - just really to make the water go towards the shower waste rather than into the bedroom. Shower will have frameless door so water can flow in

- Getting a stainless kitchen benchtop folded around a substrate
- how far should I take it up the wall? I’ll probably tile above the stainless for the splash back
- I’m currently thinking 200mm run up the wall for the stainless part of the splash back

Horizontal or vertical floor tiles? Floor tiles are 300 x 600mm and wall tiles are 100 x 100mm so it's only the floor tile design I'm asking about.

  • Photo taken from entry of bathroom
  • Floor tiles are 300 x 600mm
  • I was thinking horizontal (tiles placed parallel to door), but builder says the cuts in the shower might look a bit better if the tiles are laid vertically
  • Shower will have linear drain

Concrete bench top, soon to be poured. After minimalist aesthetic. My ideas in the picture above

  1. Would anyone recommend going wider than 1m, I'm worried it might feel a bit narrow with the 2.3m width (pretty set on that). The current bench at my rental is 1 x 2m and that feels pretty good.
  2. Any feedback on drawer layout?
  3. Side supports on the concrete overhang?
  4. What are peoples experience with thinner concrete tops? like 20-30mm. I don't love the super chunky 50mm+ aesthetic.
  5. What overhang would you recommend on the non seat sides?

Thanks!

Renovating a Californian bungalow; original 3m ceilings with ornate cornices (keeping those). The extension has 2.5m ceilings and a minimalist feel: Tassie oak floors, spotted gum cabinetry, stainless benches, concrete island.

Considering the Duo Cornice (50mm)

  1. Does a stepped cornice work in a minimalist space, or is square set / shadow line better?
  2. Other low-profile options worth looking at for 2.5m ceilings?

Thanks!

Full height corner pantry in L shaped kitchen with island

Option A) double doors opening inwards only

Option B) double doors opening outwards

Option C) single door

Option D) something else

Me and my grandpa like A because it facilitates a leave the doors open and go back and forth to the pantry workflow.
