Smiles come a littler easier: [25] to [28]

Not enough people talk about the postpartum experience. The anxiety, the depression, the loss of identity. That may not be the story for everyone, but many of us, including myself, struggled while carrying the weight of the world and of new life on our shoulders. I’m thankful to make it through one of the darkest times of my life. It has been a journey to rediscover me, and I am enjoying the ride.

28F-You don’t have to have it all figured out.

You don’t have to have the perfect update, a funny story, or everything figured out. You don’t have to show up as the best version of yourself. You’re allowed to exist in the rough draft.

Maybe life feels messy right now. Maybe you’re lonely. Maybe you’re tired, overwhelmed, healing, figuring things out, or just looking for someone to talk to.

I think sometimes we convince ourselves that we have to get our lives together before we deserve connection. But I don’t think that’s true.

So, if you’re looking for a friend, you can reach out. You can send the awkward “hey, how are you?” message. You can ramble. You can disappear for a little while and come back. You can talk about something completely random. You don’t have to perform.

You’re enough exactly where you are.
I’d love to meet some people who believe in that kind of friendship too. No pressure, no pretending, no having it all together. Just two humans existing, talking, laughing, venting, and maybe making life feel a little less lonely.

If you reached out before, I’m sorry. My inbox got overwhelming pretty quickly

What am I missing?

This was the strangest encounter I’ve ever had. It makes me want to find a new loctician, which is unfortunate because she’s local and so good!

28F- a dissertation isn’t necessary.

You don't have to submit a resumé, telling me your life story or answer a silly question tucked in the middle of a paragraph four to prove you read the post. That's not how conversations start in real-life. They usually just begin with a smile and “Hi.”

So, *smiles*, hi.

One thing I’ve learned is that you can not expect your locs to look like anyone else’s. I have been asked how I started them and the products I used. I started with coils at the roots and two strands at the ends.

Products I use:

Creme of Nature: moisture shampoo, pure honey leave in conditioner, and twisting cream.

All Day Locks gel for retwists.

I am not a professional by any means. I am just answering the questions I get the most.

Love and light! ❤️
