When traveling abroad, what specific apps or streaming services do you actually need a VPN for?

Heading out of the country soon and trying to build a list of what usually stops working when you're overseas.

Obviously, VPNs are a given to bypass geo-blocks, but I'm curious about your actual use cases. What specific streaming platforms, banking apps, or other services do you find yourself needing a connection back to the US for the most? Would love to hear your experiences!

Any new cheap regions for YouTube Premium lately?

I know YouTube Premium has always been way cheaper in certain countries, and I’ve seen Turkey, Argentina and India mentioned a million times.

Just wondering if there are any newer regions worth looking at lately, especially with all the currency changes and price increases happening everywhere.

Anyone noticed a country that’s suddenly become really cheap in 2026? Curious what regions people are using these days. Thanks.

Are residential IPs really that different from regular VPN IPs?

Been looking into residential IPs lately and I’m wondering if they actually make that much of a difference compared to a dedicated VPN IP.

I know a dedicated IP isn’t shared, but it’s still usually a datacenter IP, right? Has anyone here actually used both? Did you notice any difference with streaming, CAPTCHAs, sites blocking you?

Just curious if residential IPs are actually worth it or if a dedicated VPN IP does basically the same job. Would love to hear from anyone who’s tried both.

Anyone found a reliable way to watch TVer or ABEMA from overseas?

I’m living outside Japan and mostly just want to watch TVer and ABEMA , lately my VPN has been really hit or miss. Some servers are super slow and others just get detected or blocked completely.

I’ve tried switching locations and a couple of different VPNs, but it’s getting annoying. Has anyone found a more reliable way to get a Japanese IP from overseas? Many thanks.

Any reliable way to watch JioHotstar outside India now?

Hello,if you search on Reddit, you'll see many posts from people getting blocked when trying to stream JioHotstar on a VPN outside India. It seems like they’ve really cracked down on standard datacenter IPs, and regular residential proxies are just way too pricey to stream on with those per-GB data limits.

Just curious what everyone else watching from abroad is doing, what's your current setup, and how are you keeping your connection from getting flagged? Thanks!

How are you guys getting cheap standalone YT Music Premium lately?

Hello, I’m looking to get a cheap standalone YouTube Music Premium subscription, but with Google heavily cracking down on regional pricing and datacenter VPNs, what’s your current setup?

Which country’s IP (NG, TR, UA, etc.) and step by step process actually work right now, did you have to use a residential IP to bypass the check, and how did you get past the local payment restriction? Would love to hear any recent success stories or tips below. I love you guys.

What subscriptions are actually working in Nigeria IP right now?

We all know Nigeria has insanely cheap regional pricing for things like YouTube Premium and Spotify, but the payment wall is brutal with foreign cards being hard-blocked almost everywhere.

so what digital services are you guys actually managing to pull off in NGN right now, and what payment workarounds are still surviving the anti-fraud checks? Thank you.

For people still asking for FREE VPN: If you aren't paying for the VPN, YOU are the product!

Look, running server networks isn't cheap, so if a VPN costs you zero bucks, they're definitely making that money back somewhere, usually by harvesting and selling your activity logs, dumping random ads on you, or even worse stuff.

If you honestly couldn't care less about your privacy or data getting passed around to shady brokers, hey, knock yourself out with those sketchy "100% free" apps.

Otherwise, stop expecting free lunches, get a legit service, or just don't use one.

I know this post won't change a thing and people will go right back to asking the same question tomorrow, but man, seeing it every single day was driving me nuts. At least getting this off my chest makes me feel better!

Is regional pricing still the best way to get ChatGPT Plus cheaper, or has OpenAI patched everything?

The $20/mo standard subscription gets pretty heavy over time, especially if you're also paying for Claude. I heard back in the day people were subscribing via Turkish/Nigerian IP with local gift cards to cut the cost in half.

With OpenAI tightening payment gateways recently, what is the current working (and safe) way to get Plus at a lower rate without getting banned? Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but thought I’d give it a shot! Thanks in advance for any insights.

X ads are unbearable lately, even Premium subscribers are still forced to see them. What’s your mobile workaround?

The situation is getting worse.. Desktop ads are easy with Firefox + uBlock Origin, but the official mobile app is completely ruined by fake news, and promoted replies every 3-4 tweets. For those who mostly use X on iOS, what is your actual setup to get a clean feed on mobile, DNS filtering, modified apps, mobile browser extensions, or network-level blockers? Thank you for sharing.

Is regional pricing in places like Bolivia even worth trying anymore?

Hi, as you probably know, Bolivia’s currency has been facing severe devaluation lately, creating a huge gap between the official and parallel market rates. On paper, local digital subscriptions look unbelievably cheap right now. But actually getting those prices is a completely different story.

Platforms seem to be getting way smarter at detection, IPs from centralized VPN datacenters tend to get flagged pretty often , not to mention the stricter payment card blocks.

Just curious, is anyone still having luck navigating this? Welcome any thoughts
