Hi everyone,

I should preface this by saying that I don't own a car and probably won't for the foreseeable future. I also live in a small city in Ontario. The closest No-Frills is 7.5 km away, and the closest Food Basics is 4 km from my house. It also takes me around 10 minutes of walking from my house to the nearest bus station, and the same from the store to the bus station.

Buying groceries and carrying them home by bus can be a hassle at times. Sometimes the bus is full, and even if I bring my shopping trolley, it can only fit so much.

For that reason, whenever I go shopping, I tend to pick up smaller-sized items (oil, vinegar, rice, canned goods, 6-packs of sparkling water, etc.), which are usually pricier compared to the larger ones I can't carry home.

This month, I decided to order directly from the Food Basics website. I was surprised that the prices of items were exactly the same as the ones in-store (this is not the case for Costco, which had instilled the view that buying online is more expensive). I could also order from the flyer with the same in-store discounts, and the best part of it all was that the delivery and assembly fee were zero, and I only paid an $8 tip to the shopper who brought them to my door. I checked the prices, and if I were to buy smaller versions of these items, I would have paid more.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences regarding this. For people who don't have a car and live far from grocery stores, do you order bulky items online?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to buy a TV strictly for playing GTA VI. I'm planning to get the PS5 Pro, so my budget for TV would be somewhat limited. I think the maximum I can afford is $550 ($700 CAD). I don't mind the size all that much. I just want it to be smooth with a great color palette and something compatible with PS5 Pro.

Thanks.

Hi everyone,

I ordered two packages of ground lamb from Instacart today.

The packaging says that these were previously frozen/keep refrigerated. So, I'm not sure when they were thawed and placed in the store's fridge.

The problem is that the best before date of them are March 14 and 19.

I called the store and explained this and they said they will refund them.

I'm planning to throw them out but I hate wasting food. Are these safe to eat or should I err on the side of caution?

Thanks.
