Visiting Beccles for 3 days with my dog, best places to go?

Larry’s first holiday (from London) so keen for exciting walks in woods, beaches and decent pubs

He hasn’t been on a decent walk in a week due to the heatwave, so this holiday is all for him 🐶🐶

Getting progesterone in the UK?

Hi, I’d love to get progesterone for when we start trying again as I’d ideally like to take it 3DPO. Issue is, I live in London and everywhere I look, private places cost the earth just for a consultation. Is there anywhere that is simple and not super costly?

I asked for it when I was pregnant (3rd MC) and they said no, as they only give it out with early bleeding. I’ve read lots of people take it at 3DPO and they then had a successful pregnancy.

I know it might not be my magic answer but I can’t wait for the NHS to help/not help as I’m 36 in a few months

Thank you!

Any private testing that doesn’t cost the earth? UK

I’ve just had my third miscarriage (no LC) within a 14-month timeframe and I’ve been referred to the NHS recurrent miscarriage clinic - although I realise this could be a long wait judging by other posts I’ve seen.

Has anyone had private tests that didn’t cost an arm and a leg? I paid £260 for blood tests (thyroid and APS syndrome etc) all normal. And generic blood tests - all normal.

I wonder if I should concentrate now on getting my husbands sperm tested or paying for a scan for me? It’s all a bit of a sunken cost fallacy and I’m scared to run ourselves into debt with this but I’m 36 this year and just really want a baby 😥 I didn’t get early bleeding so NHS didn’t give me progesterone, but I’m wondering if that’s the answer? Or NK cell testing etc. there’s just so much info out there, I’m not sure where to start.

Dog friendly places in Oxford centre??

Hi, I’m meeting my friend and her baby in Oxford on Monday. We were originally going to meet at a country park nearby(ish) but she now won’t have a car so the city centre is easier.

Where can we go that’s dog friendly? Any large parks? (I’m from London and she’s from Cheltenham, so this is our middle point)

Thank you!!

Any other UK-based owners hating the heatwave?

I HATE being the Brit who complains about the weather, but my GOD.

Today was the first day since the heatwave started where I’ve been able to comfortably take Larry out over lunch. I’ve had to keep him inside for days, only doing early morning walks and quick toilet trips where I carry him to the shade.

I feel so bad for him, as he really struggled yesterday in the heat. My living room was 27 degrees.

He has the fan, cooling mats, ice treats and a cooling bandana - but it’s just so tough.

This is also the first time he’s slept on the bedroom floor as with me was too hot - the minute it cooled enough he jumped back up.

I just hate that he’s stuck indoors and not able to run around and I really want the temp to drop to 22.

Anyone else given their dog two breakfasts?

My husband left the flat this morning pre 7am, so when I got up I assumed Larry hadn’t had his breakie. Suffice to say, Larry has now had two breakfasts (including two supplements etc).

I then spilt goat milk in the kitchen when making him ice lollies, Larry is having an amazing day!

Larry HATES his ears being brushed

I’ve tried everything, peanut butter, liver paste etc but he acts like I’m abusing his when I try and brush his ears.

I use feta gel spray and start from the bottom so I’m super gentle - but he acts like he’s being abused.

It’s so annoying because he keeps getting mats and I’m constantly cutting them out and he’ll have no fur left soon!

I wish I started when he was a little puppy but any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Luckily we pay for a groomer everything 10ish weeks so he gets a spruce up then but his ears are getting longer and I don’t want the horrible matts.

Larry David is now ONE!

Larry David turned one on Tuesday! I can’t believe it, he has doubled in size since we got him at 12 weeks and I really can’t imagine life without him. So proud of how well he is doing… but would LOVE for him to stop eating all wooden furniture (he even tries eating pub tables now 🫠)

Some pics from his birthday weekend bananza - including a cinema trip, dog show and woods.🥹

How do other people feel on their dogs birthdays? I felt emotional at the thought of him getting older lol
