[Discussion] How is running your art business in Europe going right now?

Hi! I would love to launch my art business (I am planning to start with a snail mail club), but with recent events here in Europe like recycling fees, I am not sure if it’s even possible.

How do you cope with the restrictions right now? Are you trying to compensate that with other makrets like the US and Canada and other parts of the world?

Publish video to subscriptions feed question

I am still confused by this function.
If I disable it, does it mean that the video is not heavily promoted to subscribers and instead tested on a new audience in the beginning?

Are community posts good for creating a community?

How do you use community posts? Do you use it to communicate with your audience - like do you ask for their opinions on your videos, post behind the scenes and to notify them about upcoming videos?

And do you find it beneficial?

How to make abstract art?

Hi there! Do you have some tips on how to start making abstract paintings? I feel like my brain can’t comprehend making something that is abstract and doesn’t depict some form of reality. And I don’t know how to overcome that.

I for example like paintings by Kupka or Kandinsky.

To add some background in my art - I studied animation at uni, so I have some of the formal education when it comes to drawing / painting realistically and I also have no problem with stylised art, like illustrations etc. Its just the abstract art I can’t wrap my head around and I feel like it would be beneficial for me to try that.

Any advice is welcome!

Panic attack after surgery

Hi, recently I had emergency surgery and few hours after I woke up from anesthesia I had a pretty bad panic attack. I thought I am going to die as my heart was racing like never before. Than two smaller panic attacks followed and I was given something to calm my nerves.

Since than I was released from the hospital, but I had trouble falling asleep. The moment I realize I am falling asleep, I woke up panicking. I am taking some meds to help me fall asleep, but I still struggle with that feeling or fear of going to sleep.

Now I am bit nervous about going back to my normal life. I am anxious person and had few mild panic attacks before, but usually I was able to stay in control of what is going on a calm myself. But now I am scared that the panic attacks will get worse. I don’t want to experience the fear of dying like I had after the surgery.

Even when I am writing this, I am crying. I guess the surgery was just a traumatising experience.

Will it go away? Is it just the reaction to the panic attack I experienced?

Andy advice on how to cope with that?

Thanks.

When you subscribe to a channel, do you expect the exact same type of videos as the one which made you subscribe?

I ve recently published a video which do pretty well, I received supportive comments and gained over 600 new subs. The thing is, the video have very low average view duration - only around 20% - partially understandable as I show a process of creating something, but still low. But it makes me question how to approach a next video. Should I try to make it more entertaining or just to stick with mainly showing the process, because thats what the people subscribed for?

Also, people are usually quick to subscribe to my content, sometimes I even wonder why, as even though I have a niche, I produce different styles of videos within the niche - some tutorials or walk through of a process, some more vlog like. So I am just confused about how to approach that I guess and not to disappoint the viewers.

Edit: i have an art channel, no face and usually only subtitles as commentary
