Organizing In.

Reposted to remove local details, per advice of the mods.

Our local is trying to organize the field staff of my employer. We have a good number of cards signed, and a petition has already gone before the NLRB.

We’re shy of a majority though….

Send me your best pro-union, rabble rousing, shit stirring memes if you’ve got them. We’re trying to fight back against the campaign the employer started.(they hired Litler, the same union busting lawyer/lobbying group Starbucks hired.)

GCI

I know GCI brings up strong feelings, not undeservedly, but the IBEW 1547 is working to unionize GCI workers.

If you are a current employee in the field, check out what this could mean for you.

If you know a current employee please share to them.

Union authorization

Idk if this should be posted from a burner or whatever, but fuck it.

My employer has gained the interest of our local hall. I had an excellent 45 minute phone call with an organizer the other day.

Other than signing and circulating the authorization card, is there anything else that can be done at this stage of things?

Political mailers

I know they’re never going to stop, but at least can they be printed on non-high gloss stock. If I’m going to chuck them straight in the bin at least they could go in the compost.

Naiad Solas, 4.0

Hello,

We recently purchased a Naiad Solas 4.0 from the builder Alan Shaw. He’s said since he was based out of Homer for many years that there is quite the community of enthusiasts.

Curious if anyone else here has one and has any pictures of how you built it out?

Just trying to pass the time and get ideas on a drizzly day while half of Anchorage rips down the Sterling Hwy.

Thanks!

Honda Outboards

I know about All-Seasons Honda in Homer, but apparently Ron’s in Soldotna no longer services Honda outboard motors.

Does anyone know of anyone else in the Kenai area that services Hondas?

Boat shipping

How would you get a boat from Bellingham shipped up to Anchorage or Whittier or Homer and not get destroyed on shipping?

Humble Question from Telecom OSP Tech

Sorry if this ruins your evening having a telecom guy come into the lineman sub, but I figured this would be a good place to ask.

I need some help.

I’ve got a brand fx composite body on my bucket truck. I’m dying to get some more shelves for it to be able to increase my organization. I’ve been pulling my hair out cause I’ve been fully unsuccessful finding any resources for where to get more shelves.

BrandFX said to reach out to the distributor who built the truck. Distributor said they don’t have more and don’t know where to get more.

If anyone knows, I’d appreciate it.

It’s the BrandFx Everlast Line Body, 84T with the stairs on the passenger side.

3 Vertical boxes + 1 Horizontal box on drivers side. 2 Vertical + 1 Horizontal on passenger side.

I’m tired of buying shitty state flags that last a year before being bleached out by UV. Where have you sourced a solid state flag, ideally one with a weight in it so it stays unfurled.
