Can you guess her top speed/year she was built?

Where does everyone go to find a boat captain for a day in Miami, Florida? We have a 38ft boat and were just told by the USCG that we need a boat captain. Hiring sites show captains + crews but that's overkill for what I need. Does anyone out here know where I can look?
Putting my boat up for sale and need help with pricing. 2003 Sunchaser 24 immaculate condition. One owner. 50 hp four stroke Mercury runs perfectly. Approximately 200 hours. With trailer. Suggestions on quick sale price please.
Looking for a first boat to be used in the pamlico sound for fishing and family days. The outboard has around 100 hours and rub rails need a little glass repair.
I keep seeing ones for same price with way nicer consoles but not as nice of motors. Trailer needs new leaf springs and is clean otherwise.
I had a friend that commercial fishes out of one check it over and he said the hull is solid
Ive had this evinrude 20hp for this summer now, never have gotten it to run good. Before this test run i changed impeller and impeller housing the impeller works fine.
I have a 4 blade prop for my Johnson 225 and it's manufacturing stamp is 14.25x25 but the side has all the stamps on it. Are those pitch changes or something because the numbers and letters make no sense.
Unfortunately, the time has come for us to say goodbye to our first boat. Our 2005 Four Winns Horizon 230 has been a great boat for us for the last 10 years; however, the engine recently flooded, and the repairs cost far more than the boat is worth in working condition.
We have kept up with regular maintenance and repairs since we bought the boat in 2017, so everything else is in fairly good condition. My trusted mechanic tells me that the boat is effectively at the end of its useful life and the best course of action is to strip out the mechanics and electronics and take it to the dump.
Is that really my best course of action? I understand that the market for a 20-year-old broken boat isn't high, but putting the whole thing in a landfill kind of makes me sick. I'm not looking to make any money off of it, but if any parts can be repurposed, I would love to find a new home for anything possible.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

The siren song of facebook marketplace is calling to me once again, and the deals are crazy good! So is there a good resource to watch, on what to look for, common things that need repairs with an absurdly cheap used boat? Just a little 4-6 seater powerboat.
The problems with my last sailboat were not immediately evident, even as it was floating in the water.
Lol yes i get it " no such thing as a free boat" but what else should i be looking for?
Not covered in a field, Old motor that "ran last year", rotting transom, soft floor? How do i tell if the cables need to be replaced? Metal vs fibreglass?
Hey all, I just bought a 15’ Boston whaler and a Shoreline trailer from my uncle. The whaler has a good title in my uncles name, the trailer however does not have a title. I live in NJ and from what I have found online, a trailer weighing less than 2,500 pounds does not have/need a title for registration. I’m not sure if that is true or not but I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on if it’s going to be a PITA to get tags and registration for the trailer. This is my first boat and boat trailer so any advice is appreciated!
Hello I have a 17' 1985 Chris Craft Scorpion 168 inboard. Correct function has been typical, push forward for forward acceleration, center for neutral, and back for reverse.
Problem: Recently, after being in forward gear and pulling the throttle back to neutral it has been remaining in forward gear. This isn't a problem when returning to neutral from reverse. I'm getting by, by going forward, then all the way to reverse, and then back to neutral. But this is a liability.
I took it to the shop and the mechanic said there wasn't anything he could do. But I am not convinced. Does anyone have any tips? The boat is mostly all original.
Thanks!
I have a coworker who said he’d sell me his 15’ welded Gregor to me for 4k. I’ve been out on it once and it’s really well kept, had the transom reinforced for the larger engine. New Bimini top, Lawrence fish finder, and cover. Do you think that’s a good deal? I’ve always wanted a fishing boat, especially now with two boys, I just don’t have the option of spending a lot of money since it’s not a need. I do want a slightly bigger boat but not sure for the price I could find one. Located Northern California.
Quick demo: 9 stations on the ladder — including Stations 5.5, 6, and 7 — and how we use a simple laser level to get perfect frame alignment. No fancy tools, no guesswork.
This is a short technique video. Don't confuse it with the big cockpit sole video coming soon — that one will cover the full layout separately.

Would anyone have a rough idea of what something like this would weigh? Just curious for towing.
Was told it was the bent/beat up prop, I put a new one on. Shaft is straight and no gear issues. Then told it was the water pump. I put a new one on. There was some sand in the impeller area so I thought maybe that was the issue. Took it out last night and it does the same shaking at about 2500 rpm’s. When I first start it, I can get up to about 3500 rpm’s before it starts happening. Then it continues to do it around 2500. Shut it off, turn it on, it lets me hit 3500 again, but then shakes. Do you think it could be the fuel filter or fuel pump causing this? The motor mounts are solid also.
Hey guys, I bought a center console about 18 months ago. The boat had just been bottom painted and the previous owner had kept it in the water for his 10+ years of ownership. As a result, he used an ablative paint. (Interlux Aqua One Ablative. YBE179)
I keep the boat on a lift, and only put the boat in the water when I am actively using it, then it goes back on the lift. As a result, I think ablative paint is not my best choice.
The paint is also starting to peel/chip away. What is my best option here? Sand it down well and cover it with a hard bottom paint, or stick with ablative? I’m reading about some issues going from ablative to hard, unless I fully sand all the way down to the gel coat? Any experiences switching?
Wife and I both grew around the lake and have been wanting one of our own for some time. However, we have two young kids and weren’t sure if it was a good idea. Kids proved to us a few weeks ago, on a lake trip with a group of friends, they take after their parents and enjoy the lake and boating! Was given the approval to start the search for ours own.
My buddy has a Cobalt R6, it’s everything I’ve wanted for years and I love it. However, we’ll have to trailer the boat to every location. That boat is a little bigger than we’ll need and is certainly out of our budget. So I’m looking for something that style around $40k range. Boat will primarily be for cruising and swimming. Of course some tubing and skiing behind.
Not ruling out any brands or certain sizes or age at this time. We’ll likely be staying around Oklahoma, but head to the ozarks and north Texas occasionally.
I’ve been looking at marketplace, boat trader and pop sells for weeks looking. Was curious if anyone might be able to give me some more specific to keep and out for over the coming months. Or maybe brand/models they might work best for used and budget.
Thanks!
Picked up this 22’ custom gheenoe-style hull, and I’m not sure what motor mount would work best or fit this transom. The top width of the transom is 11.5”, height is 24”. I want to put a 30HP motor on it, but Ive held off on buying one until I could figure out a mounting solution. The original owner used a deck mount kicker bracket, but had trouble getting the boat to plane, likely due to the motor being too low. Any suggestions or ideas?
