Has anyone used conformal coatings before? Anything I need to know?

I"m making a water probe sensor, it's on a PCB which is submerged in water and reads data. Looking at the chips I'm using it won't have an issue with conformal coating. The PCB already has the traces covered with mask.

Never used it however, was thinking of playing with it on a few other boards BUT before I just go blindly using it. Anyone ever used it, had issues, etc...?

I made a thing

So I designed this myself, my wife and I got engaged at WDW and (although late) last year was our 10th year anniversary. So made this as a little gift.

The idea is I can inset our date we got engaged on it (where the numbers would be one one of the regular surgery markers at the park).

It's a drink coaster, but it is made of 304 Stainless Steel so it can go in the dishwasher, although I hope it gets a bit "grimy" inside like the ones on the ground do. Also I'm going to add a cork bottom (obviously it will wick heat away / cold) to create a buffer.

I may make one made out of brass.

Note: not for sale, just something I did as a fan creation. Also I'm not a CNC expert so I sent this off to be done but came out great!

Where was I? (photo from 2013)

I remember we left Toronto in the winter (wearing jeans) as soon as we walked out the doors when we landed my coworkers and I turned right around to change into shorts LOL.
