How to get official education on this online? How to combine it with my software career?

I work in software but I have a passion for animal behaviour/wildlife conservation/animal biology.

Unfortunately, I cant drop everything and go back to university but I would like to get some education while I work and hopefully in the future make a career change.

Does anybody how could I merge both worlds to make the career transition more feasable?

My plan is to do the Wageningen MOOC Certificates for now. I have seen about the Oxford lifelong learning on animal behaviour, which excites me, but Im not sure about this content format since apparently there is no video, so its not a format Im inclined to pay so much money for.

Any other reputable online sources to get some sort of official education that at least grants me a certificate at the end?

Thank you very much.

Is Apple watch series 8 cellular enough to use Whatsapp while iphone at home?

I will have an old dumbphone to make calls while im outside. But i would like to have something that allows me to receive and reply to friends on whatsapp when im out.

Im fine with using the whatsapp on the apple watch only on wifi but i would need to be able to keep my old iphone (to which i would connect the watch to) at home. Also, i would need a little keyboard to reply to whatsapp messages.

Would the apple watch series 8 allow this? i never owned a smart watch and would be nice to hear from someone who uses this apple watch to replace their smart phone. Thank you.

Apple watch + dumbphone + mp3 player -> Good set up? I have 0 experience with apple watch, thats why i ask

I thought about this combination today.

I would have my dumphone to call people and the mp3 for music.

Then the apple watch would allow me to receive whatsapp messages when on the street, useful for when i hang out with my friends and we make random plans while im out and about.

I would keep my old iphone always at home, so my apple watch can receive and write whatsapp messages. also i would take my iphone for day trips or when im in an unknown place.

Does anybody have this set up? Realistic? Need advice because i never owned an apple watch and im thinking about getting one for this purpose.

Is the Canon SX60 HS a good camera to start with nature photography?

I want to get into wildlife, flora, landscape photography and train my skills a bit for a trip im doing to South Afrika.

I wanted something with the budget of around 300e, no lenses to carry around, good zoom and decent fps for animals.

I have done some research and this seems like the ideal starter camera for me... i found one for 330 refurbished, what do you think?

Solo Female Trip to South Africa: Garden Route or 8-Day Safari?

I'm planning a solo female trip to South Africa from October 31 to November 9, flying in and out of Cape Town.

My main priorities are seeing as many animals as possible and enjoying beautiful landscapes. Because I was a bit concerned about safety, I initially planned to join organized group tours.

My original itinerary was:

  • Cape Town sightseeing
  • A multi-day Garden Route tour, including Addo Elephant National Park (one game drive), penguins, an ostrich farm, and whale watching in Hermanus
  • An extra day for a marine wildlife expedition

However, I've been reading about longer safari options and am now considering spending 7–8 days on safari (for example in Kruger or another national park), with game drives every day.

For a first-time visitor to South Africa whose top priority is wildlife, would you recommend my original Cape Town + Garden Route itinerary, or spending most of the trip on a dedicated safari?

Thanks!

Has anyone gone through this in a healthy relationship?

Hello,

For context: I’m a 27F in a relationship with a great guy (24M). We’ve been together for 6 months, but we were friends for longer. Honestly, I’ve never been happier. He’s not only my boyfriend, but also my best friend. He’s integrated me into his family and friend group, he’s a good man, always communicative, honest, and loving.

The thing is, last night, because of a situation, I asked him if everything was okay. He told me that for the last 2 weeks he’s been feeling some sort of dissatisfaction with his job and studies, and that he feels overwhelmed. He says he loves his job and wouldn’t quit it, and that he knows his studies are necessary, but he has a lot on his plate since he’s also training very hard in a sport for an important upcoming event.

He said that for the first time he’s having thoughts about the fantasy of quitting his job, and that he feels he can’t focus on his studies the way he used to. He did also lower the frequency of his trainings to see if that would help him, but it didnt. He’s a very disciplined person, so not being able to perform at the level he expects from himself, despite dedicating so much time to these things, has been taking a toll on him.

Now, the part that hurt me:

He told me that he can’t envision his future right now, and that includes us. We had a long conversation, and the conclusion was that he’s overwhelmed with work, studies, and lack of free time, and that this is affecting his ability to understand what the point of everything is. He said that because he currently can’t imagine his future in general, he also can’t fully picture what happens with us either.

At the same time, he said he loves me and doesn’t want to lose me. But hearing him express doubts broke something in me, because I’ve always felt completely secure in his love, care, and seriousness about me. So this really took me by surprise.

I told him that the one thing I can’t deal with in a relationship is someone who isn’t sure about me. He replied that he is sure about me, but that he’s going through a phase of feeling overwhelmed and lost in general. In the morning, he insisted again that he loved me and was sure about me, and that he had been worried telling me all this would make me break up with him because he doesn’t want to lose me.

I love this man, and if we both want each other in our lives, I will fight for us. But part of me was left hurt and confused, and I can’t stop wondering:

Is this a normal situation? Is this something relationships go through? Am I delusional for believing him when he says it’s just a phase?

The truth is, not even for one day did he make me feel something was off. If it wasn’t for this conversation, I would never have noticed.
