Reminder: this is who we're dealing with.

And a goodly proportion of the country supports her. I'm surprised she didn't exclaim, "You're not drinking James, well done! And you haven't stolen my handbag yet!"

In a sane world this would be the death-knell for a politician. Instead it'll probably bump her up a couple of points. smh.

Idea for Bomb Tower: You can toggle it between ground or air.

The Bomb Tower is quite possibly the worst defensive building – especially now as air attack reigns supreme.

Why not make it like the skeleton traps, and you can choose if they target ground troops or air troops? It might make them a little bit more useful and strategic.

Ascending aortic replacement patients only: How long was your stay in hospital?

TIL no-one reads this bit.

I posted earlier today asking how long was your hospital stay, saying in the body section (this bit) I only wanted to hear from people who had had the same surgery as me (ascending aorta replacement). 18 comments and not one from an AAR patient. 😑

So please: reply and tell me the length of your hospital stay _only_ if you have had ascending aortic replacement surgery.

Mine is 13 days and counting.

How long were you in the hospital before being discharged?

I had a replacement aorta op for a dilated ascending aorta 13 days ago and am still in the hospital. I might be getting out today (fingers crossed), though the doctors this morning couldn't agree. Two thought it was fine, another wanted to wait 1 – 2 more days.🫤

I was actually cleared to leave 2 days ago but then abruptly came down with a fever and arrhythmia at 9pm. Weirdly they went for an entire night then bang on 7am everything abruptly went back to normal. The medical team couldn't tell me why this happened; just one of those things. Since then everything has been fine, heart rate & body temp normal, all the blood tests okay, scans okay.

I was curious (and bored, oh so bored) to find out anyone else who has had the same operation how long your hospital stay was. Is 13 days normal or am I special?

If I bought $150 of groceries today, would I collect 8000 points?

Do the offers double up like that?

Wish me luck!

I'm going in for surgery tomorrow for a dilated ascending aorta. What can I expect in the days immediately after surgery? How much discomfort can I expect to be in?

And what should I take along to make the next few days a bit more bearable?

I'm packing my phone, extra long charger cable, kindle, slippers, open front pjs, lip balm, moisturiser, eye mask, ear plugs, toothbrush & notebook to record anything important as I figure I'll be too wiped out to remember.

Is there anything else you found a must-have?

Is this legal?

I was in an African goods store and saw a packet of "plantain chips". Never heard of them, google told me they're part of the banana family. I'm always up for trying something new.

Got home and curiosity had me peel the sticker off, whereupon I discovered the original production & expiry dates are a year earlier!

Is this legal? And, more importantly, are they still okay to eat?

What are some Aboriginal names?

It occurred to me the other day that I do not believe I have ever encountered anyone with an Aboriginal name, even when I've taught in schools with a large Indigenous population. Back in NZ Maori names are extremely common with even pakeha having them. In addition, there are many Maori transliterations of english names, like Pita for Peter or Haimona for Simon. But Aboriginal names? Never. I know it's very different between Oz & NZ in that there is only one indigenous language over the ditch. But I would still have thought there would be a few names out there. Are there? Or is there some cultural or historical reason for not giving your child an Aboriginal name?

Anyone else think it looks like the barbarian is heading a giant turd?

Which, given what's going on at the mo, is rather appropriate.
