[Discussion] Reasonable price for requests

What price range would you say is acceptable to request a game in?

People usually request games because they simply can’t afford them at the moment, but what do you think is the maximum here? Let’s say a person wants a game that costs 65ish and on sale it would be ≈48, would you say it’s too much?

I’m new to this sub, so it’s simple curiosity on where people draw the line

Duplicates of trading cards

I recently got two duplicates of RE4r cards, what do I do with them? (warning: I’m new to this if it wasn’t noticeable)

I see there’s an option to turn them into gems or sell (0.07), what’s better? And what does one do with trading cards anyway? (Other than trading)

Any tips and general info would be appreciated. Thanks

Question regarding posting works

Just stumbled upon an author that created 7 separate works and every single one is “Oops, you came a little too early. Come back later! This is here to keep track of my ideas, the story is not written yet.” (wording changed so that the person is not getting witch hunted)

Is this allowed? The stories are not even written yet and every single one includes the same first chapter with “Oops……” All of them are for the same fandom and none have even a single chapter

First comment on my favourite fic to write and it’s this :/

I mean, could have at least put effort into it and finished the sentence but nooo, let’s leave it like this and think it will work

Difference in stats

It’s fascinating to see how my writing is treated in different fandoms haha! I don’t think I’ve ever seen such difference in subscriptions to kudos ratio.

Fic 2 is in a smaller fandom but somehow got bigger attention even if I poured most of my time into Fic 1

Btw, I don’t mind it at all, it’s honestly so interesting how different fandoms and ships are approached in fandoms. I wouldn’t say either of them are nsfw or something you can’t bookmark, so it’s definitely unusual for me to see so many subscriptions and little to no other reactions

Ruptured eardrum from gunshot

I’m writing about a character that is using a gun for the first time ever and her eardrum bursts.

How realistic is it if it completely heals after 2 months? How does it affect someone’s hearing in a long and short term? Does the person still hear well enough to catch what other people say? Can there be complications due to inability to treat it at first? If yes, what kind?

Would appreciate any details regarding the complications and details of accurately portraying the injury!

Context: She’s in a situation where she has limited medication for the first few days and has to be near explosions and gunshots (also first 2 days). Her eardrum bursts after repeated gunshots right near her. (Building filled with zombies)

Sleep deprivation (My Version)

Like… really? Lesson? How could I add two extra letters to Leon’s name. Lesson of the day: if you want to spend extra time editing your own writing, write at night

Just finished my first 5.6k word chapter🥹

I usually write 2.5k but this time I went above and beyond to expand on the scenes and use a more descriptive approach, honestly feeling really proud of myself here. Just a few years ago I dreaded writing 300 words in English, now I’m like “300? Pfft, triple it.”

I don’t think it will be everyone’s cup of tea as it is OC/CC but I hope that people who do like this stuff, will also enjoy mine^^

Finishing your chapter one draft is:

Love my beta reader to death, learned so much from them in just 1 chapter

Past me knew something I don’t

Maybe writing at 2am wasn’t the best idea, day-time me is not that big of a psychic to understand what the hell I wanted to say by this. Find a synonym? Expand? Who knows, at least I get to read 4k words of this genius who clearly isn’t me

My favourite tag to use from now on

Got so pissed after seeing multiple works that are clearly written by Ai, that I had to step up and write my first ever fic

Sleep deprivation is:

That’s when you know it’s time to go to bed, before the whole fanfic becomes this and “urgent footsteps became more urgent.”
Keep in mind, it’s supposed to be an intense scene where the character tries to avoid the zombies, why are we hesitating x2???
