Was anyone else scared of this mf?

(this has nothing to do with AI, I can't change the topic for some reason...)

A little backstory, I always had a love-hate relationship with Mad. I loved the comics and the cartoon show but I hated HATED this son of a bitch, Alfred E. Neuman. He always creeped me out as a kid and I had very violent nightmares about him. I tried my hardest to get rid of my fear of him but it never really worked, it would always come back when I had a nightmare about him.

I saw a scene in Texas Chainsaw Massacre where the protagonist was hiding in the van and I was more scared of the poster with Alfred on it than anything else happening.

I also heard about this artist named Paul McCarthy who made Bossy Burger and wore an Alfred mask. It was by far the most disturbing thing I ever watched in highschool. (Even tho it was funny)

Luckily with age, I'm not scared of him like I used to be and I want to start collecting Mad magazines again but I'm still very much disturbed by Alfred. I just can't look at him for long and my childhood memories revolving around Alfred creep back in.

What are some underground artists you feel like are slept on?

A lot of my fav vaporwave artists aren't popular in the vaporwave space and it feels weird talking about them in a way.

My pics are Fat Man Miami, Vestige Vapor, Under Two Palms, Lindsheaven Virtual Plaza (RIP), Saki, NxxxxxS, and Disease.

I wanna say Infinity Frequencies but they have been used in popular videos. But a lot of their discography is really good and needs acknowledgement imo.

I have never heard anyone talk about these guys.

I'm new here! Here's an old OC of mine! 😋

This is my OC Nerve! Nerve was brutally tortured by the town's butcher for stealing meat for his brother and sister, Gristle and Tendon. His siblings dug up his remains and stitched him back together using zippers from old jackets and revived him using witchcraft. Since Nerve has seen the afterlife, he gained otherworldly powers such as possession, the ability to walk on walls, extend body parts, and the ability to talk to otherworldly beings. Nerve and his siblings are trying to find their mother after being kidnapped and forced into a cult by their aunt.

This is the rough backstory so far, I'm still working things out and adding new characters. I'll try making character maps later to really get to know them.

I'm obsessed with him and his siblings rn. I'll do another post for his sister, Gristle later. 😋

How would I go about making a metal sample into vaporwave?

I'm using a sample from System of a Down for a new song but it doesn't sound vaporwave-y enough imo. I slowed it down, added reverb, and made it sound deeper but it doesn't hit like a classic vaporwave song. What should I do?

(I use Bandlab and I don't really know how to use it other than timestretch and making my own sound filter. Please explain to me like I'm in kindergarten lol)

Is "Sludge" vaporwave?

I was listening to Chipmunks on 16 Speed and it has me wondering if it's vaporwave or not. I would like to experiment with my own "Chipmunks on 16 Speed" inspired music but idk how to go about it yet.

New single "Logo Kids" just released!

Hey guys! I just made a stand-alone single, "Logo Kids". This song is an ode to the weird online community that I'm fascinated with. I found the sample I used in a "scary logos" compilation and got inspired. It's the top pic video logo.

I kinda consider myself a "logo kid." Since adopting my best friend, I've been obsessed with black cats and I love the black cat fireworks logo. I used the old one to make my parody album cover. I'm not into logos as much as the average logo kid but I understand the appeal.

How old were you when you got into vaporwave? How did you discover it?

I'm mad curious about this! When I discovered vaporwave, I was around 12. I found out about vaporwave through meme compilations back in 2016-2017. It was those /music plays memes and a remix of Macintosh Plus 420 with this crying kid. I got hooked on it once I found the actual song and I went down the rabbit hole!
