Is it common to not ask your partner that many questions?

My partner is autistic and I’m neurotypical. I’m doing my best to be a supportive partner. We’ve been together three years and I’m grateful for him.

He almost never asks me questions about my day and life, and basically waits until I volunteer information first. He’ll always listen when I talk, but often when I share key details that I feel would warrant a response or follow up questions, I get nothing. Sometimes, the conversation immediately changes with almost no acknowledgement of what I said.

Earlier today, I was selected as a juror for a court case. On my way back home, my best friend called me to advise he needs open heart surgery due to recent test results.

When I saw my partner after work, he didn’t ask a single question about the jury duty. He heard me on the phone to my friend and I gave him a very short summary and he just said “oh” and then didn’t ask any follow up, share a message of support, etc.

Is this common? Is not asking questions or always expecting me to volunteer info first related to autism? It’s tearing me up a bit.

Is the new thieves guild quest available all season?

I’m travelling and will be unable to play for a few weeks. Is this questline available for the entirety of Season One or is it gated to a shorter event timeframe?

Best place to steal and level up legerdemain?

I used to use the two ships at Daggerfall but, since they updated the docks, those ship interiors no longer have stealable items.

Cartoklept chest didn’t give me the tool?

I spent ages farming 20 large vault keys in Scriveners Hall.

My group and I just killed the Cartoklept queen and I obtained the treasure map in the Rift.

I went to the Rift, found the treasure chest and then… I got one piece of Runecarvers and nothing else. No achievement or the associated tool, the Cartoklept Map.

Is this a known bug? So frustrating after a long grind.

New personal best - catching the Legend on Day 7

I play on Nintendo Switch. I know that others have managed to catch the Legend even earlier but I just wanted to share a small personal victory with you all! My old personal best was Day 16, but I only play random seeds so it’s just luck when rainy days happens.

Are all sets that increase damage by a specific percentage being nerfed?

I recall reading a comment that Tide-Born (which increases damage to monsters by 12%) is being nerfed. Namely, it’s changing the damage formula from multiplicative (x) to additive (+).

Is this change from multiplicative to additive damage specifically just Tide-Born or ALL sets that increase damage by a percentage? For example, are Deadly Strikes, Ansuul, Velothi, etc also being changed?

Finally, does this formula change include skills too like minor berserk (+5% dmg) or minor slayer (+5% in dungeons)?

I’m fine with the meta always shifting, potentially this will make more sets that focus on proc damage or increase wep/spell damage more viable. I’m just curious to know!

EDIT: corrected the set name

Best werewolf class for U50

I'm looking forward to the U50 coming to ESO on June 8th which introduces new class mastery passives and a big werewolf overhaul.

Hyperioxes has released PTS testing including a breakdown of which passives are still active in WW form. Thank you u/hyperioxes! Importantly, there is a DPS breakdown of each class including which ones benefit from the new class mastery passives. See testing here: Werewolf Solo Build | U50 PTS

As you can see, the Warden is leading the charge at 72k but I'm trying to understand why? I'm comparing a class like sorcerer which initially seems to have more passives for sustain and damage.

Here are the sorcerer passives active in werewolf form:

https://preview.redd.it/sthej5s8z90h1.png?width=562&format=png&auto=webp&s=d9ff3bf26658294b2397f6a28666fba2479ebb1f

Some important context, conservation of energy means you also get +10% max stamina or magicka when cast ability with cost when at full health. Static reverberation seems especially strong for non-pet version. I'm guessing they must have removed the +5% physical/lightning damage passive that sorcerer has previously had?

EDIT: Wait... so it turns out amplitude (which increases damage to enemies by 1% per every 10% health they have) and energised (increasing 5% physical/lightning damage) ARE still around and active in WW form. They just weren't included in either screenshot above.

Here are the warden passives active in werewolf form:

https://preview.redd.it/1wtw2qmiz90h1.png?width=545&format=png&auto=webp&s=0771686fdfe8b1b7bb0c473d8ec39b7c277c661b

Based on this, the damage difference must be from wild adaptation which increases Weapon and Spell damage by 333 per status effect? Additional question, I'm wondering if I'll get the true benefit out of it when playing solo (I usually play solo VET HM content) or if I need more group members to really ensure there are 5 status effects up and running at all times. I'm also not sure how Tundra's Maw is proccing based on equipped set (e.g. running charged enchantment on weapons rather than frost enchantment).

I also see the recommended warden set up for werewolf in testing was Aeries Cry compared to other classes which is Order's Wrath. Is that also a main contributor to the DPS difference? While you don't benefit from the 10% buff to animal companion skills (which you can't cast in WW form) I assume it's therefore mainly the eagle attacking every 3 seconds?

Does this mean it's mainly just the class sets (Aeries Cry / Pyrebrand) rather than specifically the class passives that are pushing Warden / Dragonknight for higher DPS compared to others that are all running Orders Wrath?

Finally, I should add I'm happy to make a warden as it also fits well for roleplay purposes but I'm also trying to understand the reasoning behind the DPS difference in this particular round of testing.

EDIT: Here is an image of every class passive active in WW form:

https://preview.redd.it/7pe4q5ka9a0h1.png?width=835&format=png&auto=webp&s=20f56905b8041084a3cd6f8e01c1a2aa4a948cab

If you click link Werewolf Solo Build | U50 PTS you can scroll mouse over to see what each item does. Again, it looks like Wild Adaptation is the damage passive but I want to double check 1) how viable it is to keep up 5 status effects constantly solo (especially as WW form limits what skills you can use) and 2) if class sets may have also contributed to the damage difference rather than just passives?

EDIT 2: And for simplicities sake, here are the damage specific passives active for either class:

Sorcerer:

  • Blood magic w/ conservation: Increase max mag or stam by 10%
  • Expert summoner: increase max mag or stam by 5% (if no pets. If pet, health instead)
  • Energised: More physical/shock damage by 5%
  • Amplitude: increases damage to enemies by 1% per every 10% health they have
  • Static reverberation (class mastery): Damage attacks have chance to proc additional shock damage every .3 seconds

(These are in addition to multiple other passives that provide more sustain, more healing, and reduced ult costs which is more relevant in new WW form)

Warden:

  • Glacial Presence/Tundra's Maw: requires chill to proc. Maybe from weapon enchant or a set that does frost damage? Chilled does more damage and class mastery procs Major Brittle
  • Wild Adaptation (class mastery): 333 more wep/spell damage based on status effects. Max 5 for 1665. Is it entirely this passive with 5 constant status effects or the class set that increased damage?

(Other passives seem to just buff 10% more health or, if not running Tundra's Maw, reduce damage by 3% per status effect up to 15%)

To be clear, there is no correct way to play ESO. If you’re enjoying yourself then you’re playing the right way. Fun is entirely subjective and an activity that one person loves another person may find stressful or boring.

That said, the negativity in this sub about the Night Market has been getting to me. I respect that people will share negative views that I disagree with. That’s fine. Now, it’s my turn to share some negative views that some others will not like.

I’m a hybrid player. I prefer solo questing where I can go at my own pace, talk to literally everyone, role play my characters, etc. I also regularly complete the hardest group content like vet HM dungeons and trials, and I’m always ready to explain mechanics to newer players.

I couldn’t play for a few days after night market launched so I could only experience it through the posts on this subreddit. The posts were overwhelmingly negative so my expectations were pretty low and… after finally playing, I’m CONVINCED that the majority of people complaining don’t grasp the basics of ESO group content.

The reason is that is the three district areas are truly easier than vet trials. The three dungeons have just one boss and it’s on par with a standard vet dungeon boss. The opulent trial was completed with a pug group where we had to muddle our way through learning the mechanics until we beat it. Again, I’m solo-oriented so I only ever play with pugs / uncoordinated random players.

The basics of vet group content seem to be an ENIGMA to people I’ve spoken with and who are regularly complaining on this sub. I’m talking simple things like:

  • Using the group finder to join or create a group of 12 players. It feels like people are just entering the district and… hoping to bump into other players? Is that actually how you expect to find a large group?
  • Joining groups where you require relics or keys. The description/title is clear that you must have relics or the key to dungeon or trial. The amount of people who join a group called “YOU NEED RELIC TO JOIN” then complain they can’t get past sand wall… they can’t grapple to ledge… it took me a 10 second search online to find out what relics are and how to unlock them.
  • Not understanding how instances work. There are people who join groups complaining that they can’t see their group members. If you’re in the same area but you can’t see anyone… it’s because you’re not in the same instance. I’ve had to walk multiple people through how to teleport to a player and then they thank me because they can finally see group.
  • Leaving group after first wipe or being one-shot. That kind of behaviour is pretty common in normal difficulty group content, because if a group wipes in normal difficulty something has gone horribly wrong. In vet trials, wipes just happen and you bear it with a grin and work out how to handle mechanics differently. When we completed pug trial today, so many players left after a couple wipes until we had 12 people who were simply willing to learn how to transfer orbs and soak the aoe.

If you’re a solo player and you’re not interested in playing the Night Market, then that is totally fine and I respect that. If you’re a solo player and you’re complaining because you want to do night market but you are unwilling to improve your playstyle even slightly for what is honestly STANDARD vet content then that’s on you.

EDIT:

Posted this at 4am and have only woken now to see replies. Thank you to everyone who responded, even to those who disagree with my viewpoints here. I simply wanted to add minor tips on the off-chance it improves the experience of someone reading it. After you complete your main faction quest:

  • Unlock the relics: you can view which splinters you’re still missing by opening journal > going to achievements > night market > exploration. Or just type “splinter” into search bar and the three achievements pop up. This unlocks abilities like grapple hook or moving through sand walls.
  • House wings: after unlocking relic, still need to purchase the furniture item from your faction merchant - you don’t automatically have it by unlocking relic. Place furniture on pedestals in home to unlock small extra rooms in the new player home. Earn favour to unlock the guild bank in home which imo is an amazing addition.
  • Dungeon keys: on PC, press F5 when you’re in the night market to bring up a screen showing you which keys you’ve already obtained. If there’s a key icon, you’ve got the key. If there’s a boss icon, you need to kill the boss in district. Keys unlock dungeons. Dungeons unlock the trial.
  • Daily golden coffers: you can earn x2 daily caches (someone please correct me if there’s more - I’ve only seen two quest givers so far). One from central plaza and another from your faction leader. This contains the coffer splinters for relics.
  • Opulent trial: this is how I obtained my faction monster helms, new furniture kit, and new title. Stock standard vet trial difficultly but you can’t just tank and spank, you’ve gotta learn mechanics - the two main ones are transfer orb and stack aoe (this happens after each phase and during final boss fight). I beat this with a random pug (I play solo mainly so no guilds / voice chat for me) but be patient with yourself - you’re still learning and this vet trial is new. You got this!

The removal of rewards tied to directly to daily login / endeavours being bound to a 24 hour window feels great.

I just had a four day stint where I needed to prioritise other things - work, partner, family, etc. Instead of feeling like I’ve missed four days of progress I could log back in after a break and it’s all still there ready for me to claim.

It’s honestly so refreshing. In my country, the 24 hour window resets at 8pm so there are multiple instances where I missed it by just a few minutes. Now, I don’t feel any rush to get home, go to gym, make dinner, chat with partner, etc. I can now play at my own preferred pace and if I skip a day or two… there’s no feeling like I’ve missed out.

I’m so glad with all the changes happening - overland difficulties, class overhauls, pure class passives, werewolf rework, old guild mates coming back, etc… just feels like somehow this game has reignited itself.
