What other fun things do you remember that would never fly in Brampton in 2026?

I was pretty beat up on Saturday, so I took Sunday off. I wrote 10,000 words for a new book I want to write that will take about 2 years to complete (I have other projects on the go)

Unfortunately I'm dreading going to sleep now because I know I have to wake up and get back to exercising.

I'm not hopelessly out of shape or anything, I'm just trying to improve my cardio and flexibility. But, man, I need to figure out ways to motivate myself.

The good news is that the more I physically work out, the more my brain seems to produce, so I'm enjoying that bit of synergy. I just have to push a bit harder tomorrow to get back on the bike and pedal my brains out!

In most RPGs we don't really play mechs or spaceships vastly differently. Piloting skill rolls for anything weird and unusual, but realistically nobody is expecting characters to role play themselves punching buttons or swinging rudders with their feet.

I would like a bit of a guideline, but honestly, its out of stock everywhere around me, and I think I can realistically forge ahead without it.

More experienced GMs - am I making a mistake taking inspiration or is there something I really need in the science fiction supplement?

I'm perfectly comfortable with magic and psionics. I just ban precognition in session zero (I have enough continuity errors) maybe give a few prophecies along the way, and everything else works!

Awfully low level for a 02:30 patrol.

It started last week on Thursday and went through to Monday. I wonder if they're purposely targeting the labour day weekend.

Is there a glossary somewhere for the terms? I can already foresee reminding people about a thousand time what bennies, raises, aces, etc are.

It does become second nature eventually, but I'm just trying to find a way to give players a road map before I start injecting them with terminology.

I grabbed a few weeds, one of which I didn't recognize. I felt a mild sting when it brushed against my wrist (I was wearing gloves) and tossed it into the brown bag with the other weeds.

Its now nearly 8 hours later, and my arm still has an itchy stingy sensation.

I don't remember what the plant looked like, so what are some local possibilities that would produce that?P

Not poison ivy, not stinging nettle, but I have welts rising up in my flesh.

It has stabilized, I don't need to worry about a hospital, but what do you think it was?

I'm not hungry right now, but I could seriously go for something tasty.

Are we on an island here in Brampton or do you think we are in line with the statistics?

We aren't on a major route. The street is relatively secluded. The people here do use street parking, and it isn't a problem generally speaking.

I have noticed a few people who stop here to shout between their cars, get out and talk together, then after 20 minutes, go and leave. They never visit any of the houses, they are just standing in the street talking.

Worst case scenario, guns, drugs, or dead bodies. What other explanations could there be?

I doubt I can get police involved, the timing isn't consistent, and I haven't tried to put together a research trail. I'm just wondering if I should investigate further, or let it go since there is no real way to enforce it.

Imagine my shock when Argo Bus Service Brampton shows up between levels.

The target demographic of Brampton people playing puzzle games at 01:30H is probably not going to result in a big payoff for them.

How does the system work? I know they put the ad on a server, and it tries to pick its targets via interests. Does anyone know how much they pay, and what the actual click through rate is?

I just don't think the ROI would be significant enough to justify any expense over about $10 a month.

Fortunately I care little for predictions. I just kept watching the birds - they were staying up nice and high.

It looks like it passed right by us to the north and south.

Escooters and Ebikes are decent ways to commute.

The province is talking about banning them for people under 14.

I think the focus should be on safety. Helmets, pads, etc.

I DO regularly see kids rolling around on them without helmets, which is mildly distressing, but from what I've seen the cheaper models don't do much more than 10 kmph. Pretty much what they'd be doing anyway.

Encouraging people to use microtransit should be a priority. And lets get the scooters out of the hands of virtual monopolies. They aren't that expensive, and they aren't nearly the menace of dirt bikes in the 1970s and 1980s.

And they will jack it back up the next day for the weekend traffic!

While I am fortunate enough to have a group of drivers on my route that are pretty good, I think institutional apathy has set in.

They claim to have rules about what they will and won't pick up, and how it should be packaged, but I've seen people absolutely jam their bins sky high, and they still get picked up.

Now I'm not expecting people working these routes to be self starting happy go getters (Lets be honest, garbage collection is a necessary but unpleasant job) but I do think they are very lax in their enforcement.

But, I've never seen a recycling container rejected. Have you?

Maybe we can give the Peel Police hiring surge some credit on this?
