1 week to 1 month

You all celebrated 1 week sober with me and had kind words of encouragement that I appreciated. Thank you, so I am happy to announce the 1 month mark has been achieved.

My lovely wife who is very proud of me purchased this 1893 Commemorative Colombian Expedition Coin for sticking to it. She is proud of me and said some words of encouragement as I continue on this journey (expedition if you will 🧐).

While my addiction wasn’t full blown or thoroughly destroying my life yet, I have had a wonderful month of clarity and positivity. Coin collecting and my interest in silver has been a fun and engaging way to spend my money.

Any info or thoughts on this coin are much appreciated. It seems like a cool piece for any collector but it definitely fits my tastes. I am impressed with her and the numismatist who guided her.

I know the coin and the price are mostly subjective, “if I’m happy with what I paid that’s all that matters”. But how do you think she did coin shopping for her first time? (She did pay the listed 30 dollars)

Feels like I struck gold!

Found at a garage sale, all 10 discs for 40 bucks!

I’m not selling these here bc obviously not allowed but, does anyone have an idea of what Vibram discs are selling for currently?

They are all definitely in good condition, potentially great condition. They are not warped either. I’d say 9/10 condition.

The other discs are really cool too! Do
Philoyers hold any premium?

No matter what thiugh, WOW am I happy 😃

Confused but not mad…

I just did a 1500 mile road trip, NC -> NJ and back. This is a two parter:

Question 1- I’ve had this car for 15 years, it’s a 2010 Mazda3 2.0. Lately, I’d say the last 6 months maybe a year, I go to a gas station and fill my tank (doesn’t seem to make a difference on brand). The gas nozzle clicks the tank is “full” and I get in to drive away. The problem in question is my gas gauge isn’t full, it’s one whole bar short. As a new problem I’m confused, could it be that gas nozzles have been upgraded? Or maybe the gas is bubbling more than it used to and thus the nozzle kicks off?

Question 2- I got 340 miles on a tank of gas (missing the last bar) and I got 370 miles on a full tank bc I topped off my tank as I am aware of the problem in question 1. I dont always keep track of every tank but when I did in the past I’d be stretching to make 330. This seemingly came out of the blue and I hit 340 missing a whole bar of gas. That’s weird right? I haven’t used any additives recently or made any changes I can recall, it’s not even fresh or oil or a fresh air filter.

I usually only check my mileage per tank on road trips so it’s also not highway bs city driving.

Thoughts ?

Proud Purchase

One week sober, decided to treat myself. 😃

I really like the way natural circulation highlights and emphasizes this Walking Liberty. Told the owner I was spending 25 bucks as that is roughly what I saved this week by not drinking and after he mathed out spot, he said he would celebrate with me and sell it to me for 25. Cool dude 👍

The Lego was an impulse buy with Amazon points, so I def paid to much but I wasn’t gonna spend it on anything important anyway.

(Does anyone know if you can buy silver on amazon without paying tax?)

The quarter was in my change today and it seems oddly shiny and looks very new/uncirculated for 2006. While I don’t think it’s worth more than .25 , I am curious about why it looks so different if anyone has info about it

I’m gonna stick on the sober bus and of if I succeed another 3 weeks I’m gonna go buy more silver, maybe an Australian currency piece, idk yet
