Time Sensitive! Need Recommendations

I’m hoping I can find fast help here lol!

I need pants for work with at least a 34” inseam.

However . . .

I fell in love with Rekucci several years ago. They are pull on pants in a material that looks like regular trousers, and they have pockets and belt loops so they never look like pull on pants. They are also impossible to wrinkle. Like I could ball them up wet and stuff them in my bag, wait a week for them to dry, and they still won’t be wrinkled when I put them on. I had wide leg and slim fit.

I’ve worn them into the ground, and I need new work pants right away. I’m really hoping for something I can find on Amazon for fast delivery. I really don’t want thick fabric or “yoga pants that look like work pants.” I live in Texas and it’s too hot to wear stuff like that eight months out of the year.

Can anyone recommend a brand on Amazon? I know there’s a megathread for clothes, and I am looking through it, but I need fast results!!!

I figure this is the place to ask because every brand “recommended” by Amazon calls a 33” inseam “tall.”

Thank you in advance!

“The dress code is formal. No jeans!”

I think we need a flair for, “The happy couple doesn’t know what dress codes mean.”

I’m going to a wedding this fall. The quote in the title was printed on the invitation, and the wedding is in the Midwest.

They said formal, but I know this crowd. I think they meant Sunday Best.

I’m hoping this dress is a good compromise. It’s not floor-length formal, but it’s also not Sunday Best.

Thoughts?

FWIW, I’m 43F. I can wear this without shapewear, but I don’t show my legs because of scars. My normal clothes are dressy because I like to dress up, so I’m trying to find something that doesn’t look like I would also wear it to work, which is why I’ve skipped jumpsuits. It will still be warm when this wedding happens.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Inspired by the Shoe Thread: What is your country’s attitude toward unconfined house pets?

Quick explanation: my house rules about shoes are direct result of my pets. When I say unconfined, I mean pets that don’t live in cages or aquariums.

In the U.S., roughly 50% of all households have a dog and roughly 35% have a cat. Other than farm cats, it’s not common anymore to have an outside-only cat or dog, and most animal rescue groups won’t allow it.

We have a small percentage of households that have other indoor animals that are not confined, but it’s rare for these types of pets to be unconfined 100% of the time (birds, hedgehogs, ferrets, I’m sure there are more).

What is it like in your country?

EDITED TO CLARIFY: By confined, I mean fish, gerbils, hamsters, tarantulas, snakes, etc.

Which product - if left off - ages you the most?

I need commiseration lol!

I’m the original pale person. Pale skin, pale hair, pale eyes. I put most of my makeup on today, but I stopped short of eyeliner and lashes because of a minor crisis. Crisis solved, and I looked in the mirror. Holy f***, I look ten years older without eyeliner. And I barely wear eyeliner! I wear it everyday, but it’s just a thin line under my eyes because - like the rest of me - I have pale eyelashes.

Anybody else? Is there one product that makes all the difference?

▲ 1 r/Wegovy

I’m just starting. Please advise!

Hi! I’m 43F and just starting the Wegovy pill at the starter dose. I am also traveling internationally four days from now, so I’d love any tips on what to do and what to expect!

More info about me if you want it: I grew up a bit chubby but nothing serious, and then I gained a ton of weight with my pregnancy at 24. I did hardcore diet and exercise, lost a hundred pounds, and kept it off for sixteen years. I was skinny! Then Covid hit. Then I turned 40. I’ve gained thirty pounds, and it looks like I’ve gained 60.

I have an added problem that my legs were crushed in a car accident when I was 17. My doctor was a miracle worker. I walk independently. When I limp, people think I just have a sassy walk. However, I haven’t had as much luck with my knee. I’ve had so many surgeries. I won’t do it again. They have told me for years that I need surgery again, but every time I’ve listened, I spend months rehabbing for this “will last twenty years” surgery only to be told after two years that it didn’t hold up and I need surgery again. I won’t do it. I’m in pain and take pain meds everyday, but I’m not in a wheelchair, which is where I would be if I had surgery again.

I’m only sharing my leg history because I desperately need to lose this weight to help my knee. I know thirty pounds doesn’t sound like much in the grand scheme of things, but my leg cannot support this, and I really, really do not want to have surgery again. I’ve put it off for fourteen years. I will be irreversibly angry with myself if I can’t put it off again because I couldn’t get this weight off.

I will be so grateful for any tips or advice you can give me! Does it really not make a difference until you get to a high dose? Is the shot more effective? I really don’t think I can give myself a shot! What do I need to watch out for? Also, Diet Coke is like my emotional support beverage and always with me lol! Is it bad to drink this on Wegovy? Obvs I won’t drink it in that first thirty minutes.

Thanks!

Does American friendliness seem like overkill, or is it welcome?

I live in a suburb in Texas. We don’t just smile and chat. We wave at pedestrians and cyclists (all of them). We learn the names of servers and bartenders. We ask to thank people by name when we get extra help in stores.

When Americans come to your country, is this considered rude or overkill? Is it acceptable to be this friendly when we travel?

Hi, this is my first time in this sub, so please be gentle lol!

I’m a 43F. I get migraines every month with my period. My period is ridiculously easy compared to what other women endure - except for the migraines. They happen every single month, and they are debilitating.

My doctor thinks it’s because of rapid estrogen loss, but I can’t take estrogen because I am at a high risk for blood clots.

I really want to know if a hysterectomy could be my solution!!!

I’m otherwise healthy, and I’ve had numerous surgeries in the past (my legs were crushed in a car accident, but you wouldn’t know it from looking at me). I’m not afraid of surgery. I am afraid of trying to reconcile myself with another ten years or more of monthly migraines.

Please tell me it helped!!!

Or if it didn’t, please tell me so I don’t have massive abdominal surgery without the intended benefit!

Thank you for any insight you can give me!
